    I knew about Cousteau but Gagnan seems to be left off most histories of scuba..

    I was one of those sad kids that wanted to be a marine biologist just to go diving in the Caribbean :lol:

    I've always been fascinated by the undersea world.
    What is bizarre is that I didn't switch from Biochemistry to Marine Biology when at uni.
    Only learnt to dive at the age of 31!

    My mate seems to think that if he gets a degree in marine biology from the Open Uni he'll be immediately sent off to the Caribbean to study coral and exotic fish up close, rather than shoved in a lab in some dockyard somewhere helping someone else analyse salt.

    :lol: When I reached about 12 and realised that I'd more likely be disecting muddy starfish in some stinking lab, I decided to become what I am today...
