Musselburgh Links (my Auntie lives there, only reason I know). Assuming it's one of her interesting facts rather than her interesting "facts" ;)

I'm not doing a question, mine have been consistantly terrible and boring. Someone else do one.

Here's one. How did Charles Dodgson arrive at the pen-name Lewis Carroll?
  • Deleted user 6 February 2013 18:35:57
Actually, that may be too hard. It's certainly unguessable. Hm. Someone else go instead, I'm blanking on anything else.

God Brem how on earth did you cock that up? You must be REALLY STUPID.

How many countries have a land border with Russia (ignoring smaller states that might only be recognised by Russia etc)? Bonus points for naming them.

More than 12 I'd have thought. There's got to be going on for half a dozen in Europe going to to the middle east, then the indian subcontinent countries, then at least a couple of the ex-russian stans, and China. I'd go for 15.

Edit: Too late, and a bit off.

It's the central asian ones that are the buggers. Not sure which ones Russia even recognises.

The ones Russia recognise and others don't are tiny, and in the Caucasus, and are to do with the horrible mess that has been made in Georgia and elsewhere over the past few years.

All the big obvious countries are kosher.

    Was 16 a guess?

There's 3 tricky areas I reckon: the far far East, the far far North (West) and the, er, 'extra bit of Russia' that's somewhere over to the West...

It was an educated guess. I knew it was more than 12 it is a big bit of geography.

I think Norway is one as well.

What is the total current prison population of the U.S.A?

    to the nearest 100,000
