I do feel magic users should be able to feature on two branches of magic. ;)

I'm currently finding my assassin the most useful item user as she can pretty much hide and use what she likes, although her attack seems decent for her level. I want to level her up a bit though and see where she goes.

Demon Gaze might be getting a localisation after all.

I'm currently stuck on a mini boss. :p

Which one? I've been playing One Piece, Atelier Meruru and (now) iOS Puzzle and Dragons so this has fallen by the wayside for a bit, though I think the new patch has made a big positive difference. Visible walls!

This is a good thing :)

Even if it's just released in the US, I'll be happy to import

Road Skull, IIRC (although if it does get localised I'd rather they called him Skull Biker :p ). I tried taking him on a few times with no success and then, like you, got rather distracted by other shiny games.

I'm so glad about the patch, though! I prefer the walls to be clearly defined on a map.

Definitely! I'd be happy to support a localisation.

I finished this over the weekend after getting back into it over the previous week, 46 hours in all. Never cared about the plot at any point, but I was refining my boss tactics all the way to the end and the game feeds you more and more unique loot as you approach the end. The real challenge has come to be the post-game, firstly involving a tower which concentrates the main gimmicks from each dungeon and then a boss rush section. I'm tempted to go for the platinum in it as there's not a huge amount left to do - including getting the (Team) Muramasa blade.

    Shows what I know...

Europe (apparently - but NIS America are the best at EU/US dual localisations) and US in 2014

Is this an open RPG or a Monster Hunter style one?

@aros Neither, it's a dungeon crawler like Etrian Odyssey or Wizardry.

That's a serious delay in the conversation, aros. ;)

You roam the dungeons in first person, yes.

Well, played a bit of this, last night, after downloading onto my Vita. Sad to say, the average Vita user can be summed up as misogynistic thug, judging by most of the messages left in the memos for other players to read...

As for the game itself, mostly enjoyable with a few quirks, i.e. pressing down on the dpad turns you around rather than steps back, and the map could have easily been more functional than it is, i.e. using touch screen around the edges of the main view to switch sections rather than the tiny arrows that bounce the mini overview around.

Ah yes, the 'messages', yep, most of them are disturbing... Game seems quite nice though although it seems some people have odd obsessions that aren't about the gameplay style... Must polish off final endings on Persona 4 Golden first though...

Yeah, some of the messages actually give story spoilers, too. Ones you could probably have guessed yourself, mostly, but just to warn people!

Im looking forward to starting this soon, I take it I'll be OK with the difficulty as an Etrian Odyssey veteran?

You'll be fine. It isn't a very hard game for the most part, but there are a few nasty spikes and the post-game (leading up to new game plus) is pretty harsh.

The biggest problem is bumping into things which are drastically harder than you're levelled to, especially as there's no real way to tell how hard something's going to be until it takes down your lead character in one hit; when you first start entering the Demon Circles, which you have to capture to face the bosses, you assume that that level's boss will show up in the last one that you come across, but when you're about half way through them you'll randomly have the boss make appearances. As I mentioned, you can easily find this being the case when you're nowhere near levelled up to take them on, nor have a guaranteed way of escaping from combat with them.

Just remember to save fairly regularly, which you can do on captured Demon Circles, I didn't realise that at first and it was getting really annoying returning to the inn to maintain my progress.
