I doubt there's enough interest in the games to warrant separate threads at the moment, so this is a thread for the various Vita-released Tales games.|
So far Tales of Innocence R was released in Japan last year, but has no Western release accouncement.
Tales of Hearts R has been announced for a spring 2013 release in Japan. Again, no Western release date yet.
Still, we can live in hope. Or import.

I love it when rpg's get announced for the Vita, would have loved to have tried Tales of Grace F but with 2 kids, could never get enough TV time to see it through to the end.
Have had Dishonored since launch and am only up to Chapter 6 so the Vita is a god send.
I know! I have finished far more games on the Vita this year than on the PS3. It really is much more convinient. The PSP had a great library of RPGs and I do hope that the Vita ends up with one too.
Has anyone on here played Tales of Innocence R, by the way? I was considering getting it at some point when there's a lull (or I spot a good deal).

I played the demo. Didn't like the character designs, the random battles were irritating and the music suffered from a properly awful arrangement. Hearts is supposed to be a better game overall, though, so I'm still up for that when it lands.

I'll play anything Tales wise. They've not let me down yet on any game. So a Tales game would be awesome on my vita.
After playing Tales of the Abyss on 3DS, would dearly love some more handheld Tales. Even another remake of a console one like that would be great! (Preferably Symphonia, my favourite GameCube game by a mile)
@uiruki So it was something of a step back from the DS original in a way? How odd! I'll probably still pick it up at some point though despite the warning, being a chronic Tales addict.
@andywilkie35 Symphonia was wonderful. Zelos is still one of my favourite Tales characters.
Siliconera report with snippets of info about the battle system in Tales of Hearts R. The game is 50% finished, or so they say.
Some screenshots, courtesy of Famitsu.
I just realised you said demo, uiruki. Silly me, I totally read that as you'd got the game. I played a really short demo from the Japanese store around when the Vita was released over here, before they made it hard to do so - is it that one or is there a second? It was one where you walked around a small area then took down a mini-boss.
I had another go on it last night to refresh myself and it just reminded me how much I liked the Graces F variant on the battle system. Oops.
A trailer is now out for Tales of Hearts R.
More info from Siliconera about Tales of Hearts R:
-more playable characters
-more anime cutscenes
-more field map
Another bunch of video clips.
Just wish we had some confirmation they were coming to the west, or did I miss that one?
Should not have watched those vids...borrowed my brother's PS3 recently and just started Hitman Absolution and now tempted to get straight on Tales of Graces f! Was trying to leave that for Christmas. But now got the urge to start it.
GracesF was great much better than I expected from a Wii port. The combat system is the best yet from a tales game and the post story is a welcome addition too.
I'll continue living in hope and low expectation of vita tales.
Symphonia was a Gamecube game and probably still my favourite in the series.
Back to Tales of Hearts R news from Siliconera- the new playable character 45-year-old Garad Grinas (yes) fights using an axe and a machete.
Symphonia was quality, the Wii sequel was terrible though. Abyss is my fave, such great characters, but symphonia is tying with graces for next best. Its generally a great series and I'm looking forward to any more that come along, xillia included.
Didn't get on with the PSP tales games though, a bit poor really (bar the eternia remake).
It is indeed. My favourite RPG series. Looking forward to Xillia next year.
Which PSP Tales games did you play, out of curiosity? I only got Eternia and Rebirth. There was a Phantasia, too, because Phantasia gets everywhere, but I played that on GBA.
I never got to play the PS2 ones because I didn't have an imported or modded console so I was very grateful for the 3DS Abyss release.
I'm a relative latecomer to the Tales of series, but I'd love to see these release here. The 3DS port of Abyss was my first (despite a friend urging me to get both Symphonia and Vesperia at their respective releases) and I absolutely adored it. I picked up Vesperia (twice, as it happens!) not long after ploughing 80 hours into Abyss, and I'm yet to finish it. Then I pre-ordered Graces f the second it became available, and... I've yet to play it.
I just can't get enough time on the big screen at the moment, so handhelds are ideal for games like this.
Yes, I do think handhelds are perfect for RPGs. Hopefully you'll get time or Vesperia and Graces at some point though, as they are great games.
Siliconera has videos up for quite a few of the characters.
Hopefully! Maybe around Christmas I'll get a chance - I think I'm near the end of Vesperia, anyway (Tower of Tarqaron?), but who ever knows with Tales of games!
Cheers for all the updates santashi!
Yeah thats the last place.
Oh good, thanks! Might finally finish it then. As much as I've loved it, it does drag in a couple of places, which has led to me leaving it for weeks at a time. Then when I do go back to it, I love it all over again.
Incidentally, does anyone know when ToV: First Strike is out over here?
Oh, it's out December 3rd, nevermind.

Yuri is a brilliant lead character.
And it's out on 3rd December. £17 is more than I'm prepared to pay for any film though, really, so I'll wait for the price to drop.
Yeah, Yuri's great, and it helps that I quite like Troy Baker as a VA. Rita and Raven are really good characters too.
If it wasn't coming out in December, the price wouldn't bother me. Unfortunately, I have a lot of Christmas presents to buy
Yep, Christmas does tend to soak up funds.
More Tales of Hearts R video clips.
Tales of Hearts R is scheduled to release on 7th March in Japan. The first run comes with a downloadable game called Infinite Evolve, which is apparently an "infinite evolution 2D action RPG".
As you may already have spotted, Production I.G. are doing 10+ anime cutscenes for Tales of Hearts R.
