    Wind map

I don't know how accurate this is but it's pretty cool.

Got mates in NY. Watching their FB updates is pretty interesting. Zero power so everything is by phone. Got a lovely river outside their apartment.

I posted some pictures at the end of the last page that are pretty insane.

Watching the news now. Apparently some broadcasters are having problems reporting because all the power's out and they're hampered by the water, so can't get to somewhere to charge the equipment. You can see flashes of what looks like lightning in the background which are actually transformers exploding. Crazy.

Fire Department's headquarters in New York is being evacuated and the water levels are rising at Battery Park which is at the waters edge of Manhatten.

Winds reaching up to 100 miles an hour, water now above 13 feet in some areas. I don't know whether to be surprised or worried that this is actually coming out worse than the predictions.

    Weather Channel live stream

Water now in the subways, could be closed for a week (!).
  • Deleted user 30 October 2012 01:11:15
Yeah, giving up with Moron. He's trying to find someone to blame for the crane collapse.

    Transformer exploding
    Floating cars
    A train station in Hoboken

WNBC reporting: Reports of homes with water up to attics on Staten Island. NYPD doing rescues.

According to NBCRobin, some windows just burst at NBC's HQ at 30 Rock. Unsure what floor.

Is it just me, or does this seem a bit worse than expected

A live updated view from atop the highest building in NY. Not as blacked out as one would assume from previous pics.

    From BBC News:
The New York Times and other news reports confirm the first fatality in New York: a tree falling on a man's house in Queens has now died.
    RIP Rodger Tree :(

Same picture did the rounds during Hurricane Irene so it's clearly not fake.

This one from Grand Central Station is not fake either.
