I've had the PSP since launch but I only own the following games for the system: Exit, Killzone: Liberation, Manhunt 2, MediEvil: Resurrection, SH: Origins & Shattered Memories, Wipeout Pure & Pulse.

I'm mostly looking for a fun singleplayer story-driven experience, preferably horror-themed. Dead Head Fred and Death Jr. have caught my eye, anybody here played them? Thoughts?

I love how people can make a threads asking for recommendations and I can't. :)

Nothing wrong with this thread at all, I think it is the 4th in 24 hours (including mine yesterday) asking for opinions on something. Mine was the only locked one. :)

Do you like JRPGs or strategy rpgs? There are hundreds of good ones of so. I'm currently enjoying valkryia chronicles 2, although it is quite repetitive. Persona 3 is going to be ny best purchase, I think

Gentlemen, can we please, for the love of science, have just one thread without insults etc. for a change?

@andytheadequate Sadly they're not really my cup of tea. I do like/play a very select few from time to time but honestly I'm very picky with the ones I do end up playing. For instance: turn-based is a big no-no for me :D But to give you an idea of RPGs I very much enjoyed (on other systems): the Zelda series (especially Majora's Mask), Okami, Foklore, ...

    Looking a little sidetracked! :o

Anyway, Corpse Party is a great game in my opinion, although I know some people on here weren't fans. It's one of the (originally made on) RPG maker horror games, if you've tried anything like that on the computer.

Xseed are also localising the sequel. Completely different gameplay though but still creepy, especially with headphones, I imagine.

I've just had a look at my other PSP games and 20+ appear to be RPGs, which isn't terribly helpful if you're not into them! I'll have another think.

    @-cerberus-

    It's lady, surely? :-)

I shall add my vote to Corpse Party. Also, the first Silent Hill continues to be relevant.

Edit: There's the second Obscure game, too, isn't there? Although it reviewed badly, I still look at it with longing whenever I'm browsing the PSP store. One to be approached with caution, for sure.

Edit2: too much beer to be able to write a single coherent post :-(

    @revan8

I like how you got told to ask about a new TV in the Doom 3 benchmarks thread.

That's just the way this forum works, though. Some people are allowed to be stupid, some are allowed to post any random crap they want, some get banned for stepping just a leeeetle bit beyond the official line. Although, judging by the number of your posts, you've probably figured out this much already. :-)

Oh, and one more thing: failing to start a sentence with a capital letter seems to be a big no-no here. Unless you're one of the few who may, of course.

@dominalien 'Ladies' in case other women would read this ;)

I just sold my ps2 copies of both Obscure games about two weeks ago. Strongly dislike those games :p I'd watch a Let's Play if I were you before spending your money on them...

Have you played the ps1 range of horror games? Silent Hill, Resident Evil series, Paradise Eve?

I think we've named all the psp range of horror games.

3rd Birthday, then? Apparently it's not very good either; I only played an hour or so, but I did enjoy it.

@RunningMan Of course, I'm a survival horror collector ;) Yeah, the PSP's horror library is a bit of a let down...

Looks like they went full-on TPS with that one, not really interested...

I forgot to mention that I'm in the market for platformers as well. How is Daxter?

Half Minute Hero has an interesting concept but in terms of gameplay it's not really up my alley.

Glorious?! :) I'll have a look on eBay and see if I can find a copy of Daxter then!

Fair enough! Have you played the GoW PSP games, by the way? They're violent if not quite horror-y.

Not keen on the ol' hack 'n slash to be honest.

Perhaps a smart puzzle game or a decent racer? Speaking of which, how challenging is Motorstorm: Artic Edge?

@santashi - what do you recommend RPG wise? You don't happen to have persona 3 you want to get rid of do you?

@andytheadequate From what I can remember of my collection offhand I'd recommend:
Adventures to Go! (not story heavy or serious but quite good fun)
    Blade Dancer
    Brave Story
Class of Heroes (more dungeon game, like Etrian Odyssey)
***Crimson Gem Saga (really good Korean one)
    Disgaea 1
    Disgaea 2
Fate/Extra (interesting story, nice feel to it and the battle system is certainly different)
    ***Jeanne D'Arc (absolutely ace!)
    Lunar: Silver Star Harmony
    Persona 2 (great cast)
Persona 3 (sorry, I got rid of my physical copy when I was trying to downsize my collection)
    Star Ocean: First Departure
    Star Ocean: Second Evolution
Tales of Eternia (the first game I played on my PSP)
    Trails in the Sky

I've recently started on Mana Kheima and Blazing Souls Accelate and they seem good so far.

I'm sure I've forgotten some obvious ones!

It's on the PS Store for 6, 7 pounds (don't know exactly as I get a different currency on mine), if that's your thing.
