    I'm not THAT fussed, i save £9.99 on the shipping i guess. There is nothing wrong with my Galaxy Note either, just hope the resale value doesnt drop in the next 3 weeks.

    People over at XDA are fuming, its hilarious. Nerdrage.

    What with this and the ipad mini i am still waiting for, i've not had much luck preordering stuff recently!

    @THFourteen Just noticed the free shipping, nice. I'd already started porting my number though, so having to use the only unlocked phone I have right now...a Nokia 3100 :-(

    Ouch... do you live in london? a quick trip to tottenham court road and parting with £5-10 would probably get your good phone unlocked.

    not sure i would know what to do with a "dumb"phone anymore!

    I'm only upgrading from a 4 year old E71, I think I can live without 320 pixel internet for a bit...

    lol, I also got the backorder email, so like, I'm guessing Google only had stock levels of about 5, one for each country they trade in or something? I'm cool waiting I guess, I'm a bit pissed off Google took the best part of three days to let me know but whatever, really quite a shambles of a launch though to be honest...

    Back orders on Nexus device thats something pretty special i think.

    I reckon they only made about 50. Or there has been some sort of supply issue. It sold out in no time, there's no way they ad any reasonable volumes.

    The only thing (literally) that I don't like about it, is the glass back. It makes the phone incredibly slippy - this is not a phone for the careless.

    Apart from that, it's a shit hot phone.

    Same here. Worried its going to slide away at some point. Any decent cases out yet?

    hmmmm there are plenty of galaxy s3 for cheap on ebay... wondering whether to go down that route now instead.

    Have to say as much as i love the handset - the power button squeaks a lot - makes me think it won't last that long.

    For what its worth, it's absolutely wonderful, having just got one last week. Also its a breeze to root and install custom ROMs if you don't want to put up with touchwiz.

    Yeah, what with the 3 week delay, and buy it nows on ebay for around £310-320 I am considering it.

    Pros : Beter battery life and removable battery, Apt-x (important to me as I have expensive apt-x headphones), SD card, less fragile

    Cons : Slower processor, less RAM, slower android updates, worse screen(?)

    I don't know about the specifics of the lower specs but the screen is spectacular on this thing (the GS3 that is) imo.

    Taken the plunge. Cancelled my Nexus 4 order, there are just too many things missing from it that i would like. £300 on ebay for a good looking 2nd hand, nice deal.

    I just ordered one which isn't the easiest way if you live in Sweden. (No Google Play)
    I was planning on switching my carrier anyway and an opportunity opened itself. They said I would have it within a fortnight but I highly doubt that.

    Still. First time in thirteen years I buy a phone. I've been using handdowns and work phones since then.

    A non techie iPhone owning female friend of mine just told me they had got a Nexus 4. I thought oh wow nexus filtering to the main stream, so out of intreast i asked where they got it as knowing the play store is out of stock.

    They said they got it on a £30 a month 2 year contract. The person in the shop told them it was like the Samsung S3 so is only available on £30+ contracts, i couldnt believe it. Ok i know networks like to rip people off but tying them down to a contract that will cost them £720 for a £280 phone is simpley taking advantage of the general public. The contract itself is pretty standard 1gb data, unlimited texts etc basically giffgaff/virgin would be the same or better.

    Saying that it is her own fault, i told her this and she said oh well its like car insurance. You pay more to pay in installments instead lump sign. That may be the case but you dont pay more than double for installments.

    @neilka I've managed to throw Google of my trail by moving house and keeping the same name on my WiFi.

    If you want to correct that you need to set your home address manually in Latitude.

    I will as soon as i get my hands on a Jellybean enabled phone.

    Right now it's funny to see how the location dot is slowly gliding ever nearer my real location. I only moved a kilometer or so and last time I checked Google had me right in the middle of the old house and the new.

    I updated my address in Google Checkout and thought that would fix it. Latitude it is then.

    Good news : The 16Gb version is back on sale on the Google Store now.

    Bad news : Ships in 6-7 WEEKS. Booo :(

    I placed an order anyway.

    A colleague just got his N4 this morning. Had a play and it's really bloody nice, especially for the cash. Which brings me onto this next bit:

    I wondered how much the contracts cost so checked on Omio this morning and sure enough they're £28+ across the board. I wondered how much saving the networks would be passing across to users considering these things are £200 less than an iPhone/S3 and now I know :-)

    You have to remember that Google are subsidising that price quoted on the Play store. No such luck for the networks. Heard that, minus the subsidy, it's a £550 phone.
