Ooh la la. Tell us what it's like.

1080p on a 5" screen just seems like massive overkill to me though I must say.

I DO NOT NEED TO REPLACE MY NEXUS 4

Is 16 enough? I have that on my galaxy s2 and occasionally have to delete things (which frankly in this day and age is bloody disgraceful)

    Yep, it's micro SIM.

The screen is very nice, makes the N4's look washed out (and small!) by comparison. It's slightly lighter than the 4 despite the larger screen, feels a bit cheaper because of the plastic back though. Kit Kat doesn't seem hugely different apart from being a bit more chunky (ho ho).

@neilka - Can you please let me know if you're able to use the stock text message app to choose more than 10 people at once to send a message to on this phone?

The Message app has actually been replaced by Hangouts in Android 4.4, Hangouts does seem to let you send an SMS to unlimited people at once.

@neilka - thanks. Are you able to choose a group from your contacts, or do you have to enter each recipient one by one?

It shows a list of your contacts and you can tick all the ones you want to send to, so it's quite quick to do.

Think I'm going to pick up a nexus 5 here in the states. Pretty cheap with exchange rate. Take it it'll work worldwide?

Insanity! That's $850 :D Is it force people into lengthy contracts? I wish more hardware vendors would sell directly to consumers.

Perhaps google will only let them sell the phone on its own at those prices.

Should hopefully be getting the Nexus 5 tomorrow. How's the battery life for those who have it already?

They wouldn't sell one to me in store without buying a contract, so be warned. Ordered online instead.

I'm planning on getting one of these. My experiment with Windows phone is coming to an end.

    Nexus 5 not 4.

Going to see if I can try one in carphonewarehouse now.

    Come and get it cumslingers!

The CPW I went to didn't even mention contracts, they just assumed I wanted it SIM free.

The battery life seems about the same as the Nexus 4, it gets through the day okay as long as you don't go crazy with it. Within the first 24 hours I'd managed to drop it about three feet onto the pavement and it survived with minor scuffs, so it passes the drunken idiot test!

What's the trick, if any, for charging these things? Do you allow for a full drain before first charging or do you charge right from the start? And should you let them always drain before charging? Or is all of this stuff a myth?

@overcorpse probably the branch stupidly using their discretion. See more people getting them in store now so they probably realised nobody was biting.

Anyway got it now, seems very nice so far.
