But the nexus 4 is a fantastic phone so I don't see any reason to wait.

If you can read this you really need to fiddle with your forum settings.

Still, if I'm gonna have it for 4 years, it'd be a pisser for a new one to be announced the day after I buy one :p

Edit: Especially if it has HDMI out.

What are the chances of a new Nexus 4 being just around the corner?
The last two Nexus phones were unveiled and released in November so, sometime in November!

... kind of 'around the corner', but no doubt it'll be dearer too.

Be patient and wait is what I says.

As for the query made by the poster above you, Nitrous, a Nexus 4 is better than the Galaxy S III (a phone I once owned for a shy over a year) simply because of the stock Android, 'Pure Google' in other words.

    @CharlieStCloud

Thanks, probably go for the 16gb version and pay a bit more as its not like I get a new phone every 12 months. My last phone before the blackberry was a Motorola Krzr.

The only thing about getting a nexus 4 now is that they don't have 4G (I don't think?). Of course depending on where you live that may not matter for years.

The current Nexus 4 already has HDMI out, I used it on mine with the Lovefilm app on my TV. Or are you talking about something else?

No, I am talking about that. Was under the impression it didn't, just thought it was a smaller Nexus 7 with phone bits.

Ah looking at it it has SlimPort, didn't know what that was until just now, thanks :)

Some excellent decisions being made in this thread. Nexus 4 is definitely better than a GS3.

The screen is much nicer to look at definitely because its a the touch smaller but higher res.

a Nexus a day keeps the apple away

I know my current sim in the blackberry wont fit the nexus 4 without being cut down but if it was would it even work? A mate of mine said it wouldn't... something to do with it possibly being a blackberry data plan? Any ideas?

With the Chromecast thingamabob I doubt they'll make a phone that has HDMI out.

And then I read on only to find that it already has HDMI out.

    Woe is me

Unless you need the extra storage of an SD card.

Not that it affects me until the AOKP / AOSP devs stop supporting my S2.

Google's Android suddenly making a lot of sense...

    Budget solution:
Google Nexus 4 mobile, Nexus 7 Tablet, and an Acer C7 Chromebook. 560. 30 more than an iphone 5.

    Top end Spec:
    Nexus 4 (5 soon?) 16GB, Nexus 10, Chromebook Pixel. 1,580. That's a Macbook Pro 15" (non retina)

    PSN ID: Djini

Nexus 5 is already out there in the wild!

Google might have just accidentally revealed the Nexus 5

It would not surprise me if the phones screen is now 5 inches ... which I think is too much to be honest.

A 4.3 - 4.7 inches screen is perfect, just like my tiny willy.

It looks bigger than the regular nexus held by the lady on his left.
So yeah ... probably 5" which is probably a bit too big. I felt 4.7 is borderline in terms of comfortably holding the thing.

Indeed. It's like the timing of MS buying Nokia.
    Or the Nexus price drop.
    Or the Sony Smart Shot.

Been twiddling around with mine today. Fairly impressed.

Kicks the shit out of the 7" Android tablet I have in terms of responsiveness (and screen quality for that matter).

Twilight is quite neat (less bright screen in the evenings)
    Llama
(if you can figure out how to configure it to do you some good), I use "silence" instead to automatically set the phone to vibrate for em during office hours.

Les gouts et les couleurs ...

I prefer it over stock icons and it's fun to tinker. Although I admit it's not a massive eye pleaser probably.

Thanks to a forum member on The Verge, Deuxani, he managed to set out what the Nexus 5 may well look like:

A bigger screen yet a smaller overall volume size ... madness!

Battery life isn't great on this thing. God I hate smartphones.

Anyone know if I can make it change orientation on the home screen? If I'm leaving it on charge I'd prefer to be able to see the screen properly (and not leave the cable trailing around to the bottom).
