Registered 8 years agoWell the console and PC versions were mediocre going by the reviews and the demo so I don't expect the PSV version to be any better. In fact, I expect it'll be much worst but that's just a gut feeling as I haven't seen any reviews either. That usually means it isn't very good IMO. I would definitely hold off buying it until you've seen reviews or comments from people who've bought and played it.Xbox 360, PS3, PS Vita, Wii, PC (Intel Core i7-920 @ 3.8 GHz, 12 GB, 2 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 SLI, Windows 8 Pro), iPad 4

Registered 8 years agoHaving watched that footage, the game doesn't look half bad actually.
It only has 11 of the 36 cars and 6 of the 13 rallies from the console/PC versions though, due to space restrictions on the PSV (4 GB or less) but there are plans to release the rest as free DLC apparently. Of course, you cannot buy a game on future promises so if it isn't realised then you're paying for half a game really.
I've searched for reviews but I cannot find any; only screenshots and a few videos, which don't really show how well it plays.

Registered 3 years agoI honestly didnt even know this was out on the Vita yet - havent seen it in any shops and i just checked Shopto and they dont have it either.
I also gave my local Game a call just now - they said it came out on the 12th of October but its an "online purchase-only" game, so you cant buy it in any shops.
Quite annoyed actually because im going on holiday tomorrow and i would have picked this up to take away if i had known it was out.
edit - a quick apology to Shopto, they do have it! (never doubted you guys)

Registered 7 years agoHad a quick try of this at lunch, really not that bad. Looks fairly good, like a late PS2/early PS3 title, moves at a nice rate and is smooth.
The content does seem a bit limited though and can't see Milestone offering free dlc if it doesn't sell well enough. It does play similarly to the demo that was on PSN/XBLA so maybe try that if you are interested.
Overall, it depends on how much you love WRC and if it looks like it will float your boat more then NFS which is due out in a week and looks like it has a lot more content.PSN: Adwab2

Is it definitely just x = accelerate with no option to switch it to the right stick?

Registered 7 years agoPlayed a bit more last night, quite impressed once you get into it. graphics vary between stages from almost PS1 level on one of the stages to really pretty on another, some of the textures are quite blocky but once you are hurtling along, it handles well enough and is easy to get into.
The biggest problem will be the amount of content you get with it, 6 rally's with about 7 stages to each one will probably get boring quite quickly. There is MP but as hardly anyone knows it is out, can't see that getting to much attention. A shame as it's nice that a smallish developer is supporting the Vita.PSN: Adwab2

Registered 3 years agoThere's no sign of WRC in any of the retail outlets I tried today in Bristol and that includes HMV, Game, Gamestation.
Is it available at all at retail or only available from the online retailers? -

It's a cut down version, 26 cars in total made up of versions of Citroen DS3, Fiesta RS, Mini and VW Polo. There are 6 courses as well, Wales, Spain, France, Montana Carlo, Greek and German.PSN: Adwab2

Registered 6 years agoIt sets a worrying precedent that this isn't available on PSN (even if the game isn't great).
I thought it was mandatory that all Vita games are released digitally too... -

I sometimes wonder how much these reviewers understand the sport.
Expecting NFS to be better, mind. -

You can buy it at GAME as my store received copies of it (albeit only a few)! -

Registered 2 years agoYeah, I wonder what this publisher did wrong (apart from release in autumn which is retarded). But not being on PSN is suicide...
Have NFS for now so hopefully I can still pick it up during the spring/summer drought.
When will these companies learn? -

@cheeky_prawnking
I got it a couple of months back to take on holiday.
Basically, its a good rally game, but its nowhere near the console version. Graphically, its average. Some of the environments look good but generally its VERY PS2ish.
The career is also very stripped back - you can take control of a real-life driver and run them through a full season, but thats pretty much it.
In terms of gameplay though, the game is spot on. The cars handle perfectly, the Vita controls work nicely (good old fashioned rallying, no touch-screen or touch-pad bollocks).
Bottom line - worth picking up on the cheap (£15-£25) if your a rally fan.
Probably a 6/10 score. Positives being gameplay and car handling, negatives being graphics and lack of content."Look at banner Michael!"
