The ME is still broken, not bad, broken, players standing around like mongs when defending, FB/WB's that let attackers run on goal at will, forwards and midfielders ignoring each other to take row-z long shots. It's a mess, an insult.
I'm fucking mad. Uninstalled, I'll not be buying 14. -

Registered 8 years agoSo I needed to draw my last game of the season to finally get promoted to league 1 in the 2nd season of trying, with Stockport county. 3 nil up with 12 minutes left, 3-4 at 90 mins, free kick in 90+2 and I'm up!

Registered 8 years agoThe only shouts I use really are work ball into box and sometimes exploit the flanks if the opposition look quite narrow or I'm not getting many chances. If I go ahead against good opposition I sometimes do retain possession and go in hard or whatever it's called. Never really thought they make a massive difference though really -

Just watch it on highlights only or something... Haven't noticed anything like this myself and I've managed Havant and Waterlooville and now Yeovil, so even if it did I just put it down to the players being crap

Registered 8 years agoSI have always said that the visual match engine is just something to watch as an approximation of the action. Doesn't matter if your full back is scratching his arse and staring at the sky or just missing with a tremendous attempt at a sliding tackle; the computer has decided that Valencia has got past him. The action is already planned out before the 'highlight' comes on.
Sure, it looks pretty stupid but your full back is getting beaten because he's not very good, not because the game is cheating.Quoted

Stickman - I see what you're saying, but GK/Defs not kicking a stationary ball on the goal-line is a tad odd. Perhaps it's the visuals just not matching up well enough to the engine's machinations. -

Registered 8 years agoYeah, that's exactly it. It is bloody frustrating to watch, but it's not actually having any effect on the predetermined outcome of that particular piece of action. The match engine still needs work, but only so it matches up rather than because its ruining the game.Quoted

Registered 5 years agoI watch my games in 2D and don't notice a lot of errors. Sure, my backs will be skinned occasionally and it'll occasionally look like my defenders can't head a box out of the box ... but that's all part of the game.
Really enjoying Classic mode so far and for the first time in centuries I've gotten to my 4th season now playing as little Real Betis. Very difficult to win the Spanish league, I think - and nearly impossible to beat Barcelona and Real Madrid. I finished 3rd last season and was overjoyed, but unfortunately I'm out of the Champions League group play through a third spot and struggling as sixth in the league so far. The increase in games really took the breath out of my shallow team.
However, after struggling with the tactics for the first two seasons I have played a consistent 4-3-3 that is working well for me in the last two seasons. I'm in the Cup Final now and setting my sights on it and Europa League success.
Oh, and I just love, love, love finding and developing youth. -

Registered 3 years agoAnyone had their son come through the academy on non-spacker mode? I'm just about to hit year 10 with one club but the info is a little fuzzy. Is it a 1 in 10,000 chance starting from year 1, or a 1 in 1,000 chance starting from year 10? -

I'm on season 5 of my game with Guiseley, gone from BSN up to League 2 so far. I'm currently top of the league with the lowest wage bill. So far so boring.
BUT, I've just reached the Semi-Final of the League cup. I've beaten three Premier League teams so far; Fulham (1-0), Birmingham (4-3 - and I was 3-0 down at half time), and I've just beaten Utd on pens at Old Trafford after a 0-0 draw. So amazingly ridiculous
