Their mission is to create "unforgettable single-player games" and their first game, due next summer, is a survival horror called Outlast.

Looks good, if the finished product plays like that it should end up a great horror game.

Odd how Edge rates some games really high and most other places don't and vice versa.

    RPS love it.

TOO. MANY. GAMES. Of which I've often not even heard about until release. This year just doesn't let up, and we're barely in the busy season yet.

All that I've seen of this makes it look incredibly dull and by-the-numbers schlock. Can't say that it's of any interest to me at all so it's a definite "not interested, won't buy".

Can't wait for Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs though. Now that looks fantastic. :)

    Eh?
The enemies are naked and all have fully rendered penises. Complete with animation. They wave around as they move.

The game is a homophobe's vision of hell - naked muscly men running at you in the dark with their willies waving all over the place.

Sounds like a nice change from all the bouncy tit physics.

Goddamn jump scares, I hate them. Still will be getting this game, waggling penises and all.

I realize you're talking about Amnesia 2 (about which I know intentionally little) rather than Amnesia, but Outlast is very, very similar to Amnesia so far, but fortunately without the soemwhat tiresome nausea/madness effects.

Just curious where you see such a big difference to call one "fantastic" and the other "incredibly dull".

Yeah this is properly good. Jump scares done right, the camera night-vision mode is great (having to weigh up the pros and cons of stumbling about in the dark and wasting precious batteries and the general disorientation from viewing the world through a camera) and it's a tiny feature but I think the ability to look behind you is genius. Constant "should I, should I, oh I really fucking shouldn't have" every time I'm being chased. Loving it.

Not normally one to wuss out of horror games but this is gonna give me a heart attack I swear.

I question though. Is there any point to not having the camera permanently strapped to your face?

I'm not sure I'd call it irksome. I glue it too my face and forget about it. Just wondered if there's any reason to turn it off.
