That said there are plenty of pubs that show football in Twickenham. I prefer the bear but they all show them...unless it clashes with a an England International.
It was the Heineken Cup that they had on TV, the Rugby equivalent of the champions league...you'll need to learn this stuff

We had lunch at a pizza place on the little cobbled street off the high street which was great and the mrs bought sweets in the ye olde sweet shop. Then we walked up the other way from the station (turned right as you come out) and there was a dodgy chicken place AND a doner place too. result. -

Registered 10 years agoYou ate on Church Street. Lots of nice restaurants there. They have "street dining" in the summer where the restaurants have tables out on the road.
I actually went to a Spanish tapas restaurant at the end of that road last night.
Plenty of Kebab shops in Twickenham, fear ye not.Come and get it cumslingers!

One of my main concerns about moving southwest. I'd always pictured myself living nearer Highbury back in the day, but the areas around there aren't great, apart from West Hampstead which is ridiculous on any normal budget. -

Then realised the app store defaulted to ipad apps.

Registered 10 years agoHaven't really used it much for reading at all. All I've done is have a quick go at SF IV realised that the touch controls are still wank yet easier some how.
Loaded facebook and spotify and then got on with some work whilst listening to spotify on it.
I have to say that the apps look much better than do on android.
That's all for now. I don't see the problem with the screen resolution. It's fine although that may change once I've done some reading on it.Come and get it cumslingers!

Registered 7 years agoWith a two year old I don't want to murderize bad guys in front of, my gaming is increasingly getting squeezed lately, so I'm considering an iPad.
Leaning toward the mini for the portability. I know I'll be down on horsepower, but there must be a skip load of current and older games that it can handle with ease, away from the 3D reverse uber polygon flibberty gibbet stuff, yes?
Also, from experience, would anyone say the 16Gb model is a touch tight on space, should I go for the 32Gb?
I really resent getting fleeced by paying the extra for the 32Gb model- a sum of money that could buy an entire terrabyte hard drive for fuck's sake. But, if I can fill it with some decent apps, a couple of movies and a good amount of games and not have to worry about shuffling stuff around via cloud type services, I guess I can just about justify it. Just.
Any thoughts from the 3 people in the UK who managed to get one, much appreciated

Registered 2 years agoI'd say get the most storage you can afford. If you can comfortably(ish) afford the 16GB but are considering the 32GB, stretch to 32GB. You will not regret it, you just don't have to think anywhere near as much about managing the space. I went with a 64GB iPad 3 last year after a 32GB iPad 1, and it's great. -

Registered 7 years agoThanks folks, picked up the 32Gb yesterday- local store had 40 in, plus a smattering of cellular ones. 16 are indeed like gold dust, but glad I got the extra storage as I already used up 4Gb last night putting stuff on it -
I think I've got a headache from reading on the Ipad mini this morning
Any suggestions on how to prevent this? What are the best reading practices on these devices?
White on black background or black on white? I was reading in sepia this morning but it didn't seem to make much difference going to white on black.
Might be dehydration though.Come and get it cumslingers!
