Ate a bad oyster a few years ago, contracted Vibrio vulnificus, now considering a trip to Dignitas for a permanent calm down... Christ, that's horrible.

There's such an obvious one here that doing it will grant you negative pun points.

    Must....resist!

He's a massive perv, although refreshingly not a paedo. My wife had to audition for him, said he's a very odd man and a huge letch.

My brother lives in Canada, and I'm going to visit him for a week in December. We've already made plans to go to a tartare restaurant, and an oyster bar, since these are rare and expensive in England and somewhat more common over in Canada.

Probably shouldn't have read Michael Winner's wikipedia page though.

On 1 January 2007, Winner acquired the bacterial infection, Vibrio vulnificus from an oyster meal in Barbados. He almost had to have a leg amputated and was on the brink of death on several occasions. Before he fully recovered, Winner caught the "hospital superbug", MRSA.[18] In September 2011, Winner was admitted to hospital with food poisoning after eating steak tartare, a raw meat dish, four days in a row.
Having second thoughts about this now. :D

Oysters are not expensive. Borough Market natives are 6 for 6, and rocks are 6 for a fiver.

LB, you really are a massive geek.

They're expensive if you live in the Midlands! The one restaurant I know that sells them here charges 2.50 per oyster, and they're on the starter menu.

Try an oyster shooter. Bloody mary with an oyster (and all the juice) in it, followed tequila-style by biting down on a fresh caper berry.

Small, sweet natives at the start of the season are one of the best things ever.

LB, you really are a massive geek.
