Personally I think it's the best in the series- I've had 27 hours of play out of it so far, and put in another half-hour on the puzzles every week or so, more than I can say for any other game released last year.
The plot isn't a particularly huge mystery, but the relationship between the professor and his old friends in the past and how it impacts in the present is quite interesting, the minigames are pretty good and the cut scenes are well-done and not overly long. TBH, I play the games for the puzzles and this one has the most content by a country mile.
