Are there any other 3DS/DS puzzle games out soon?

There are a lot of Suduko and Puzzler games which do what you expect and games like "Secrets of the Titanic" which are very basic.
Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward is dated on Amazon for Nov. 16th, not sure if that date is set in stone but the game looks good.
Scribblenauts and the new Brain Training should be out sometime as well, we might get a bit more info on these tonight.

This looked absolutely outstanding on the 3DS XLs at the Expo. Along with Luigi's Mansion 2 one of my highlights from the entire show.

I picked up the third game yesterday, fancied a puzzle game and it was only a tenner so I thought wtf. Only played with it for about an hour and a half but it surprised me how good it was. I really liked the first game but got bored with the second midway through, the third one though just seems to me like its a massive step up in terms of detail, humour and story. Such a nice charm to it as well.

Third one is definitely the best of the DS four, the fourth not too far behind.

Had a quick go during lunch, familiar yet different at the mo...!

I've only ever briefly played the first Layton game, would it be worth starting from the original and working my way through them, starting with this one or not bothering at all? I enjoyed what I played of the first one but it didn't seem anything overly special.

If it were me, I'd work through them all, just because they're fun and also the story makes more sense. But to be honest whilst there might be one or two points that cross over in the story, they're mostly self contained.

First three are a trilogy and the last DS one is the first of a new trilogy so could pick up the fourth and start from there in prep for this 3DS one but if you dive straight in here it wouldn't be a problem I reckon.

I started this last night, it makes a huge difference having the characters fully animated when they are conversing.

Puzzles are the usual fayre... nothing has caught me out yet but they are good fun and not too samey. Actually, when I say nothing has caught me out yet, that's a lie. The little action sequence at the start saw me fail hard several times - it doesn't last long though and I don't think you can really fuck it up, you just have to keep retrying... and retrying.... why am I so bad at videogames?

It really is - I was expecting a sharper but essentially same version along the lines of the first four, but the investigations etc really have made this feel completely fresh.

Also a very rare example of a 3D game where the 3D actually enhances the game.

I love the way the perspectives shift as you drag the magnifying glass around the room. Very nicely done.

Just got the game, legit purchased version, still in very first chapter and saved the game, exited to menu, bonuses section and tried download day 1 of 365 puzzles, 3DS created new data file but failed after midway point of downloading.

Said there's problem with my game, try rebooting and if no luck delete the extra data folder in 3DS system setting and start again.

Done this, that and everything I can think of but still same blasted issue.

Is this a bug? Cos I m not going to hold onto flawed game if I am unable to access another 365 puzzles and return it and wait until sorted.

    Anyone else encountering this?

    Does the same on mine.

I'm guessing the first downloadable freebie is coming tomorrow and they've not switched on the thing yet.

I would have posted exactly this. Just the lttle things, like the way the screen goes dark with a 3d cut out of the hat before a puzzle. Top stuff.

Best 3D I've seen on the 3DS so far. Love it when you examine a room and the camera angle slightly moves. Really pops out of the screen.

I'm also having the same problem with the daily puzzle. Maybe from tomorrow?

It's tomorrow from yesterday's daily puzzle problems with failed download.

    Still the same!!

So a week too early? Or it's more drastic than that?

Over at Gamesfaq forum on Layton's game, seem quite a heck a lot of people encountering the problem. Even our US cousins affected and their release date is today (28/10/12).

Suggestions were made to contact Nintendo and let them know there's problem and need fixing, seem they were unaware about it from some initial calls.

No harm to drop them an email, as would push this issue up their agenda.

Finally managed to get a proper go at this now - these are the only games my girlfriend plays so now she's finished it (14 hours in three days, pffft) I can resume the game I got an hour and a half into!

Real step up from the last ones. Magnificent.

I got an e-mail saying I qualify for free leather luggage tags. Course, this being Nintendo. the Claim button is a dead link.

Same. Keep trying, it does work eventually. They'll email again when you (finally) manage to submit the form.

Yay, claimed my tag! Had trouble logging in too - guess the server was being bombarded. Still, all's well that ends well...

Loving the game - the 3D effect is lovely, and just makes everything pop.

Sooo... is this the best layton? Could go for one of the older ones for much less outlay, but I've got a 3ds so may as well use it!

What's the deal with the daily puzzles, do you get access to the backlog?
