    Lots out this week...

Fat Dragons is a flying arena (?) game where you play as a dragon in a variety of fields. Frog Ninja is a platform game which never ends. Musync is a music game which looks a bit like DJ Max and has 10 songs to play.

The well named Tuffy the Corgi and the Tower of Bones is a platform game where you run up the tower as a Corgi. Pop Bugs Zap is a puzzle game (supposedly where you squash bugs).

Cosmos is a space shooter game (no idea how it works). Subway Run is an endless runner in the underground. Instant Dungeon looks like a game where a random dungeon can be generated for you each time you play.

Finally, Raina is an RSS reader application. So lots to choose from! Just bear in mind that some of the games out today are actually exclusive to Vita only...

    25th June 2014

    Games
    Fat Dragons - 0.79
    Frog Ninja - 0.79
    Musync - 5.49
Tuffy the Corgi and the Tower of Bones - 4.79
    Pop Bugs Zap - FREE
    Cosmos - 3.39
    Subway Run - 0.79
    Instant Dungeon! - 1.59

Some of the pricing there is bizarre - Musync and Tuffy... at around 5 each, with no info and likely no reviews. Wouldn't they be better to release them as fully-fledged PSN titles....?

1 game and 1 app this week. Trolly Fish is a spin off of Flappy Bird, but with Fish instead of pipes. The app this week looks to be some kind of sound box. No idea what it actually does...

    Games
    Trolly Fish - 1.59

    Apps
    ARP Box - 0.79

5 games out this week. Road Skill is a game which chucks out that copy of the Green Cross Code you have and has you crossing the road to collect coins while avoiding becoming a pancake. Sakura Flow - doesn't give me much of a clue.

Ball Flip pits you as a ball against the giant rolling cube boulders. Paper Boss is a game that was built at a 24 hour Hackathon and apparently allows you to hit the boss (not in real life). Hill Cliff Horse is a horse simulator (yes, a horse simulator).

There were updates to other games as well, including Musync, which adds 2 new songs.

    9th July 2014

    Games
    Road Skill - 2.99
    Sakura Flow - 1.19
    BallFlip - 1.59
    Paper Boss - 0.99
    Hill Cliff Horse - 0.65

Four games this week. Alphabet Island is an odd looking top-down game (aimed at kids?). 3D Gems is a typical Match 3 game but with gems that actually look like gems. Highway of Death is an endless runner style of game with a rocket. Finally, Silver Zombie is a 3rd person shooter with your typical apocalypse type story.

    16th July 2014

    Games
    Alphabet Island - 0.99
    3D Gems - 3.19
    Highway of Death - 1.79
    Silver Zombie - 1.39

    6 games out this week.

Role Playing Tetris is - something. It says it can be played as a puzzle or RPG game but I can't tell. Gravity Cube actually looks quite cool and is an endless runner in a tunnel with you cast as a fireball type thing. Seraphim is an arcade shooter with 3D artwork. Looks quite different from the screenshots.

Bomber Farm 3D is Bomberman with animals. TriCircleSquare is a game that I can't describe (I can't figure it out). Night Climb is also lax with the description and just tells me it's a high tension wall jumping action game...

    23rd July 2014

    Games
    Role Playing Tetris - 4.49
    Gravity Cube - 0.79
    Seraphim - 0.79
    Bomber Farm 3D - 1.79
    TriCirSquare - 0.40
    Night Climb - 0.79

PSM titles are released with virtually no fanfare - I'd be amazed if anything sells very well. Is there even a site which reviews these games?

BlueMaxima, the guy who does the weekly Vita updates on YouTube, also does videos with impressions of PSM titles. Hill Cliff Horse was amazing, along with several others which I cannot believe passed any form of quality certification.

    Just 2 games this week.

Neck Strike isn't as violent as it sounds. It actually looks like some kind of ball game. It's free to download though so worth a quick look. Farming USA looks to be jumping on the Farm Simulator bandwagon...

    30th July 2014

    Games
    Farming USA - 3.99
    Neck Strike - FREE

Has anyone got Console Saga? It looks great. If anyone's seen a review please link. I picked up Super Brain Eat 3 to support Thomas Hopper, I'm shocked Sony haven't helped him release a native Vita compilation of his PSM titles.

Four games out this week. On Call is about an officer who has to take on "calls" (missions) and fly out to each mission. Flappig 3D is err Flappy Bird with a pig. La Charte: Protect the Whale is an educational game about humpback whales.

Behind You is probably the most interesting of the lot. It's a stealth game where you infiltrate a terrorist hideout to rescue your family. Worth a second look.

    6th August 2014

    Games
    On Call - 2.39
    Flappig 3D - 1.99
La Charte: Protect the Whale - 0.40

Super Brain Eat 3 is worth 40p for anyone looking to get an 30 - 60 minutes fun for 40p. You'll get dozens of hours off it if you liked classic arcade maze games though.

    Super Brain Eat 3 6/10

Has anyone else here even bought any PSM games in months?

Nope. I did have the PSM app on my phone, so was grabbing the occasional game, but after having to get a replacement, I haven't gotten around to downloading it again. I also found that some games just didn't work as well on my phone with the lack of physical controls.

PSM doesn't work on phones full stop anymore - it's Vita only so devs can release better games apparently.

Wha...? So my HTC One can no longer play PSM titles?! Why would I want to play mobile games on my Vita when I can play proper Vita games?

^No, it's not like that. It still works on Android devices up to Android 4.4.2. On 4.4.3 or higher, it might work but Sony can't guarantee it.
    Link.

Oh maybe some of the games are Vita only then. There was definitely something about the new version of PSM.

Has anyone checked out BlueMaxima's reviews of PSM games? There was one that looked like it's gonna be a decent FPS this week but then became actually a terrible space combat game. Odd.

Oops, forgot to do this week's report (plus I've been busy on other games during the morning - sorry!)

3 games out this week. Pocket Defense is a Japanese tower defense game with simple graphics. Rodem the Wild is an odd little title where you live the life of a wild dog. Certainly looks different. Finally, there's Super Sudoku - which is a Sudoku game.

    13th August 2014

    Games
    Pocket Defense - 0.79
    Rodem the Wild - 4.49
    Super Sudoku - 0.65

The life of a wild dog sounds like a fantastic idea for a game. If anyone sees a review for it, please post the link. I would be very interested to see the feedback - if it's fleshed out with a well realised world and evidence of research and a realistic depiction of the life of a homeless dog it could be amazing and hopefully well worth support from Sony in releasing a sequel or + version as a full Vita title.

Being friends with some currently homeless and ex-homeless guys I have always wanted to see a detailed and well-researched RPG regarding being homeless. The current games and those I have seen in development that claim to be RPGs reflecting the life of homeless are absolutely insulting and it's clear the developer hasn't spoken to or known anyone who has been homeless in their life. Focused on chasing people down and asking for change and that is essentially the entire game. Absolutely disgusting.

Ideally a developer would spend 6 months following and really understanding the lives of a variety of homeless, as well as reading many books on the subject, before producing a title.

Player agency and freedom could be absolutely amazing - the world being totally open and survival being the goal, totally grounded in reality would just be fantastic. Getting arrested for more than a night in the cells means game over. Ultimate goal is to get off the streets.

Various stats such as "mental health/warmth/happiness/hunger/motivation" as well as "reputation" all have to be dealt with, with it up to you to assess short/long term benefits of various things ensuring you can even choose to sell the Big Issue to try and raise reputation - will you play the dangerous game of claiming benefits too?

Drugs and alcohol should always be there but not to stigmatise the homeless but make people understand better when you have so many bars to worry about the positive short-term impact of something like heroin would make people realise why people may choose to go down that route.

I would LOVE to team up with a dev and Kickstart the idea.
