    Nobody has answered the question of how these things are fitted yet.

    I would imagine a pole that can support full bodyweight running floor to ceiling requires certain fixings that may not be possible in the average front room.

    According to the interweb, whilst it must be securely braced against a ceiling joist, most home kits are bottom loaded so that the weight does into the floor.

    Mate be thankfull you've got a girl that wants to perform for you and get the pole. You can ask her to wear some outfits you find sexy to help you enjoy it.

    Seriously get the pole and enjoy it otherwise she'll end up having a pole in someone else's room dancing for them.

    The one she wants is an xpole xpert. It uses tension created by tightening it between ceiling joists and floor. This was my other point, it can be moved easily and taken down but I worry about it creating a gaping groove in the ceiling that I'll be the one having to pay for!

    But, there again, it seems relatively safe from reviews etc. I've got the guilt trip on me now as its the one thing she's really into...

    ok well, if it's movable then fine. It's great to have a girl whose into fitness, even better if it's sexy fitness. If you're renting, best be careful about setting it up and not destroying the ceiling.

    @Cheese - stop teasing, you! /blush /giggle /flutter /flex

    Pole dancing is probably very good for you in many ways.

    I would just hope my girlfriend would pick an exercise form not derived from such a shit area of human society, but there we are.

    As for a pole, in the living room? Fuck off.

    99% of women look fucking terrible when pole dancing... and that likely includes your missus (and mine!).

    Tell her that if she gets to have a pole in the living room, you want a sex swing, and she has to be the one to explain to visitors what it is.

    Say yes but only on the condition that you can shoot some amateur Fireman Sam porn. Sounds reasonable...

    Lewis Hamilton has one but he doesn't use it much. He hasn't been in pole position for a while.

    There are ways to exercise w/o sticking a pole in the middle of the living room. Do we get to set up a work bench in the bedroom because we like building things? No - it goes in its appropriate place, out of the way of others.

    You are not being unreasonable.
