I don't think it's weird.. Just inconvenient and annoying
Why would anyone want a pole in their room. This is just weird imo. Say no to having the pole but try and make it up in some other way. -

Has she got any bras with tassles or sequins on them? If she has then I'd be worried. Now with 80% more Cthulhu!

Registered 6 years agoShe wants a pole in the living room you mean? That's complete nonsense. Bedroom at a massive push, but not if it's a main room in the house where folk will be around.

Registered 7 years agoSo how does it work. I'm assuming that a pole from floor to ceiling that can take total body weight needs to be fitted into the joists?
Tell her your joists are too narrow and it could bring the ceiling down.FCUTA!

if it was a bench press i'd be pretty worried about my mrs getting rock solid norks especially if that was the only exercise she was doing.

Registered 9 years agoI'm with MD. If it was a rowing matching or something like that you'd probably put it in the garage. So get her to put it in the garage.
Either that or roll with it and go the full nine yards. Make a small raised dais in the bedroom, get mirror tiles on the wall behind, put up some spotlights, get a decent sound system, set up some chairs in front of the dais. When she's training, get some mates around to "play strip club". You can all sit there and make howling sounds and do cat calls and stuff, giving her a more realistic Stripper Pole routine and you and your mates something to do on Wednesdays when there's not much on the telly anyway. -

Registered 3 years agoMy mrs said the same thing once, but she realised that we wouldn't have a place to put it practically. And yes, it was for fitness. In the end, she chose a different exercise regime.

She's taken up pole dancing as a hobby, you could take up boxing, then ask to install a boxing ring in the bedroom -

Registered 7 years agoI don't doubt the strength and cardio benefits of a solid pole workout, but there is no chance I'm having a permanent fucking pole in the middle of the living room.
I wouldn't even settle for other sizeable exercise apparatus unless it was fold-able in some way and could be stored away if necessary. -
Distract her with some candyfloss or a bell and she'll soon forget about it.
