This is extremely random for a games site but i cba wih Reddit account etc and im hoping there's some like minded people that can help.

My girlfriend wants to get a pole in our new house. I really don't want a giant pole in the middle of a room. She doesn't see the problem., I think it's ridiculous. Our house isn't big, if it were bigger I wouldn't care. She can out it in a bedroom but still, I think it's stupid. Am I being ridiculous?

This is causing a problem, hence why I need to ask someone she doesn't know (we hang out in a big group)

Depends on what she looks like and why she wants it.

Let her get it. She'll be bored of it inside a month and will be using it to hang shirts and clothes on.

I agree the whole looks thing, no problems there. To be honest it's not a whole 'sexy slutty' thing according to her, it's more 'fitness' apparently.

But regardless, all I can see is a fucking giant pole in the way. Can most honestly say they wouldn't care? Am I getting old? (im 26) or is it fair to not want one?

There's a phrase for this isn't there? Find Her Under The Awnings? No that's not it.

I did say if she was still going to the classes by the time we moved in she could have one (thinking it was a fad).. Been here 2 months now and she likes it more than ever.

Maybe you could come to some arrangement? Cut a big hole in the ceiling, so that you can go down the pole fireman styley. Seems a good compromise.

Surely there's more practical ways she can get fit without installing a bloody pole inside the home?

Tell her to join a gym. Or, if she really is determined to do pole-dancing, there's dedicated classes for that too.

    Now with 80% more Cthulhu!

It's more she enjoys it, she was just trying to tell me what it's really about. She does go to classes every week which is why she wants her own one. I know i'm gonna cave on this one...

Why would anyone want a pole in their room. This is just weird imo. Say no to having the pole but try and make it up in some other way.

In fairness, I doubt if anyone here can advise you well on whether to get the thing or not. EG is usually better at telling you what mistake you've made after you've made it. If you'd like advice on whether it fits into your current decor, maybe you could install a live web cam in that room?

I don't think it's weird.. Just inconvenient and annoying

Okay fair enough. imo it is weird but different strokes for different folks and all that. If you don't want the pole keep buying her stuff until she stops thinking about it. Perhaps she is bored.
