I travel a fair bit these days, but I always forgot something or another. Whether it's Imodium or my glasses, something gets left behind and I kick myself about it the entire time.

So let's get a definitive list together and kiss that "I'm sure I've left something I need behind" feeling shit goodbye.

Those squidgy ear buds. I normally take a mini-hdd with all my photos/videos, in case some bastard robs my house.

Why don't you just use some sort of online storage?

As long as you don't forget Passport/ID and wallet most stuff can be bought at your destination.

Although forgetting a phone charging cable for an old model can be a right pain.

Waste of time Travel Protips. In most countries they don't accept them, and in the ones that do the girls charge extra.

Whenever we go somewhere hot, I always pack loads of clothes but then end up wearing the same shorts, flip flops, and a few t shirts for the entire time. Pro Tip - travel light.

You wanna know the secret to surviving air travel? After you get where you're going, take off your shoes and your socks then walk around on the rug bare foot and make fists with your toes. I know, I know, it sounds crazy. Trust me, I've been doing it for nine years. Yes sir, better than a shower and a hot cup of coffee.

Ive done *exactly* the same. The last few times ive been away, ive taken enough socks and grundys to wear for the duration and as few other clothes as I can get away with.

I just got sick of filling a case with clothes for every occasion and only wearing one outfit for the week. If you need anything, buy it there.

@nickthegun Well I just smear faeces and mucus over my body and then stand in the sun until it bakes into a solid green/brown bodysuit. Don't even bother with a case.

I don't think I've ever ended a stay somewhere and thought to myself, "I wish I had packed even more clothes". As long as you have clean underwear everything else is fashion.

    Wet wipes.

Spilt something? Hands covered in deep fried insect grease? Dodgy Bird shat on you? Need to clean a surface? Sweaty nuts?

Basically useful if you are stuck in the wilderness or have killed someone. An item I have never remembered to take with me but have on occasion wished I had.

Yeah same here. I travel hand-luggage only Confuses the fuck out of people when I arrive at some resort or something for a week and they offer to help me and I've already got it on my shoulder. I mean really, how much stuff do you use in a week anyway? Hot places mean you need less, not more. Plus you get out of the air-port, in a car, and on the way to wherever you're going in silly time. Even the wife does it and she's got make-up and stuff. Suitcases? Pah!

Yep, unless I need a suit it's hand luggage no matter where I go. You can always get laundry done.

Exactly. I've even taken a suit before when I went to a wedding and just ironed the fucker, though in retrospect that was pushing things a bit. Pulled it off though. If you roll your clothes there's fewer creases and it makes it more easier to pack.

Mobile phone, charger and travel plug, passport, and money (be that cash or cards).

A good book or your kindle. I also pack my Nexus 7 and all 3 bits of tech use the same plug.

    Something to wear.

Toiletries (toothbrush, paste, deodorant, shaving kit). I have a small bag and drop everything I use in the morning getting ready on the day I travel into it. Its a fail proof system thats never failed me.

Optionally my golf bag has its own packing list but you don't want to know that.

Cut your nails before you go. Always bothers me when I suddenly become aware that my nails are too long. Don't bite my nails.
