    Guys, quick question please :)

    Been thinking about re-installing WoW to scratch an itch recently having been away from it since raiding in TBC.

    Not got any of the subsequent expansions and not sure even if any of my old characters are still on their old servers, have been hacked etc.

    My questions are:

    1. assuming I still have my chars on the old servers, will I still be able to access them even if I don't immediately upgrade to the latest expansions?
    2. is there any sort of 'xx day free' option in case I do get access and then decide I cba to carry on?

    Probably have more questions I can't immediately think of but if anyone can confirm that would be ace :)

    1) Yes, you just won't be able to access the expansion content (revised Cata old world aside)

    2) If you buy the expansions, you'll get 30 days free, but you're better off seeing if someone can throw you a scroll of resurrection. Failing that, if you just want to see what's changed since you left, you could create a temporary new account and try out the revised old world till level 20 for free.

    Now with 80% more Cthulhu!

    I don't think I'm immediately too fussed to check out any of the new DLC as if I *did* get back into WoW I'd probably re-roll afresh somewhere anyway.

    Which means I might be best off creating a new account to see some of the new content - presumably I could carry on that character after 20 by purchasing the DLC at that point?

    I think I'll start off by installing it to begin with anyway. I might need a scroll of resurrection if anyone has one but I think I'd best at least get the damned thing installed first, eh?!

    Btw, it seems the SoR is only for 7 days, but that should still be long enough to see if the "itch" takes you over again.

    Guys, another noobish question but thought I'd best check if anyone can shed some light on it:

    Game installed ok (doing minor background stuff but otherwise done).

    Had to create a Battlenet account (new to me) which I've done. I've tried to 'merge' my original WoW account (old login and password) to the Battlenet and get an error msg saying:

    "This World of Warcraft account has already been merged into a different Battlenet account."

    Old account been hacked possibly or am I being dumb? Don't recall ever making a Battlenet account before but I may have done. Not too fussed if I have been hacked tbh but I might be missing a trick somewhere.

    What rod said. They are surprisingly good at unhacking accounts and getting them back to their originial owners.

    A friend had 2 diff accounts hacked, didnt play for years, yet got both sorted to an new battlenet account within a couple of days of wanting to come back.

    And the scroll of resurection should give you every expansion up to, and including, cataclysm, so all you should need to buy is pandaland when it arrives.

    Works fine, rolled a quick orc warrior to mess about on for a bit waiting for the res scroll to appear.

    Quick update:

    Yeah, I'd been hacked but after just a couple of msgs with the support staff all is sorted - very easy and hassle-free too which surprised me a bit tbh :)

    Going to roll a new character up to 20-30ish today and see how I get on with it before deciding to get WotLK and Cata.

    Every time a new expansion comes along I want to return. I stopped playing at TBC but bought both Wratn and Cata on releases..

    All my chars have the silly mounts (and once mop hits they all will anyways), so feel free to spam out yer scrolls.

    Anyone wanting them should really do it sooner rather than later because theres no saying that once mop hits that you`ll still get all the xpacs for free. Knowing what blizzard are like.....

    Nope, been on and off for a couple of hours. Just made it to the end of Ulda too when it crashed on me, bugger I hate that place :(

    Off topic, have ALL auction house prices gone batshit in the last couple of years? Getting 20-25g per stack of Linen Cloth seems....weird to how I remember it.

    Hmm, been considering this now Blizzard have dropped the prices on the expansions, like Ironlungs I just have TBC.

    Never was THAT into it but I have wondered about dicking around as a goblin if the expansions ever got cheap.

    Well tbh with the upcoming changes you won't need the latest content to play a Goblin from what I understand so you could explore that (and decide if it's for you) without even making a purchase.

    Ask some kind person here to send you a scroll of resurection. It will give you 1 week free and every expansion for free up to and including Cataclysm. All you need to pay for then is Pandaland when it arrives in a month (and your subscription of course).

    I could send you one but thought i`d give someone else achance at the mount first, as i have the silly mount on every char that can fly anyways.....

    So let me get this straight, they are GIVING AWAY* the expansions that they currently have on sale?!

    Convenient that they fail to mention this.

    OK, anyone want to send me a scroll? I can't guarantee I'll subscribe and get you a mount, all comes down to how I get on with it this time (and how much I want to role-play as Kung-Foo Panda).

    *assuming you own and have paid for time on the vanilla version at some time in the past
