I think my PS2 RGB cable is still switched to composite mode, since it's a fucking pain in the arse to keep switching it if I ever watch a DVD on it.

Cubby didn't know how to turn off sigs!

I'm trying to get a few cheap DC games to make me keep the DC!

Well why didnt you just say that!

As you know, i went on a Dreamcast binge a couple of months back (and a GameCube binge, and a Saturn one, and Playstation one, etc) and i managed to get a few classics cheap.

Mainly, i used Amazon, where i got some proper bargains like Jet Set Radio for 2, MSR for 1 and Chu Chu Rocket for 99p.

    Have a gander.

    @quadfather

I got quite far through Eternal Darkness mate, but then the big release window has kicked in : Dead Space 3, Tomb Raider, Gears of War, Bioshock, etc. All within a month or so!

I was very much enjoying ED though, so i will get back to it sooner rather than later.....

Fucksticks. Though that's the answer I was expecting.

I've got until Saturday to persuade myself (and the mrs) that I need to keep the dc. I need some dc goodness delivered before then!

    Though there's a RE:CV for 6

Bit pricey but once you load up the SD card (total snes collection comes under 2gb) they run perfectly on a Super Nintendo console just like the original cart

there are a few games that won't run because of certain chips (FX is one of them)

not ideal for a collector but for someone that just wants to play without taking up heaps of space their perfect

The main games it won't play (which I picked up on the cheap from Ebay) are Mario Kart, Pilotwings, Starwing/fox and Yoshi's Island (not as cheap) but also the Mega Man X's because of some special chip it has...oh and Super Mario RPG unfortunately, haven't got round to picking this one up yet myself.

Well thanks to the power of beer I managed to get smash tv, chaos engine and mortal kombat 2 for the snes. Drunken eBay bidding ftw.

Christ, mortal kombat is hard isn't it? I can't even get past level 3, and getting there was more luck than judgement

Does anyone know where you can get a PS2 compatible RGB lead please?
    Quoted in hope...!
No idea if this is any good to you now, but when I needed a PS2 component cable I bought an Xploder upscaler disc thing that apparently added progressive scan to every game. What it actually did was squash the image into a tiny rectangle in the middle of the screen so it's a complete piece of crap, but it cost less than 5 delivered and came with a component cable making it easily the most economical way of getting one. Got my hands on a new one about a year ago so I'd say it's worth 5 minutes or so of Googling/eBaying to check.

@quadfather Dunno if it's been said but Turtles in Time should be in every SNES collection as far as I'm concerned. Might be the best beat 'em up ever. That plus Castlevania 4 and whatever Mega Man X you fancy/can get your hands on and your collection is looking pretty sexy.

I wouldn't invest too heavily in shmups for a SNES. R-Type games are obviously good whatever the weather and Super Aleste ain't bad but you can just feel that the hardware ain't a good fit.

By the way if anyone can recommend a decent shop for retro games in the Black Country let me know. Lately I keep finding myself driving for miles and always end up in 'proper' (read: expensive) retro shops.

Thanks for the info - I'll check out the turtle one.

Managed to pick up a cartridge of castlevania IV for 30 in the end - quite pleased with that.

Can't find a reasonably priced megaman at the moment. Sky high prices for that

Is that the one that looks like IK+? I.e., 3 of them set in the streets?
