Registered 5 years agoBound to be a clusterfuck tonight, and 9 odd gig of download will murder my connection. May leave the download on overnight rather than try during peak. Gonna stay an SOE customer as well rather than pro.s whatever it is. In game name will be Saul - got it reserved thanks to alpha squad.
EDIT: Actually, DL'ing it now as the mass of downloads means that hopefully it'll sit just under 1.3ish down so as not to bork my whole connection. If I get it running before the night is out I'll look into setting up, or talking to the guy who's setting up the outfit.

Restarting download, epic sigh. -

Really? What the fuck did they do that for? For all the things that could've gone wrong, I didn't think that'd be one of them. I think I'll leave it for now then. Thanks for the heads up though

Is there more than one version on the SOE site too?

Edit - Oh and my D/l of 6.8 gig took about 30 mins, pretty impressive considering the load the systems must be under...

@DFawkes You're not going to play it because it's not on Steam?
I said " I think I'll leave it for now then" as in "I'll stop downloading the Steam version because it won't work properly, and download the one on SOE". Not too clear I'll admit, but I'm not sure how you'd get from what I said to me not playing. Like andy said, it's temporary (given I have to re-download lots as my Steam one was 5 gigs in - more downloading = more time).
32% into the new one, which is a lot faster than I thought it'd be, which is nice.gif)

Miller showing as full is a moment-to-moment thing - I just created my character fine on it, so best thing to do is keep on checking I guess.

Char is Saul (Vanu, Miller server) for those who want outfit invites, it's not setup yet, but will be by tomorrow latest I expect, so add me in game and I'll send invites out when it's all up & running.
EDIT: And don't forget, if you were a beta player, get the client straight from SOE (NOT Steam) to avoid ProSeibenSat accounts.

Nope, you keep your SC and all Alpha unlocks etc, just don't have to put up with an awful German company with terrible customer service. If anyone was in the beta, whether alpha squad or not, its by far the better option. Grab the client straight from SOE and you're good to go - you stay an SOE customer essentially.

Registered 6 years agoBugger, downloaded the SOE client (I think) and when I try and login, I'm getting some message about my SOE station account being configured for ProSieben Sat and how I need to create an account there. What's that all about then? -
PSS are the German company running EU stuff for Sony. Info on how to create an account will likely be on the PS2 website, check tech forums etc. Makes little difference in the grand scheme of things, just an extra hassle layer for new players.
