The pilot is fantastic, not sure they can keep that kind of pace going for a whole series but if they can get near it then this should be excellent.

Good call - gonna check it out now. This 'full episode preview' trend is good, but then you just have to wait longer for the next episode, DAMN YOU.

Wow, that came out of nowhere and was pretty damn good. Great cast too.

    Definitely recommended.

It's The Hunt for Red October meets Lost. Sort of.

Really not sure about this. The pilot went at a million miles an hour, which I realise is normal for pilots, but it definitely suffered from trying to cram too much in.

Having said that the premise is interesting, and Shawn Ryan deserves my time for The Shield. Let's see how it holds up when the show gets time to bed in.

It did stick tonnes in, casually tossing nukes around, but I enjoyed it - not really sure what's going to happen.

just seen the sky advert. it looks awful but amazing at the same time. kind of looking forward to it.

It's boring the arse off me. After a great pilot that showed loads of promise, it's basically being pissed away by artificial lengthening - they're almost ignoring the main premise and just going with pointless island squabbles.

This should have been a concentrated mini-series. It doesn't have enough there to cover a full series.

Doesn't really explain a whole heap of stuff that would be more interesting than watching people argue on an island - no wait they're on the sub, no wait they're on the island, no wait they're back on the sub. Nuclear missiles have been fired at cities!

The pilot went big and the rest of it hasn't lived up to that.

1st ep: promising. Then someone shot the scriptwriter.

Watched the first episode of this last night and thought it was a bit crap.

Everything happened so quickly that it was impossible to get any impact from any of the 9,000 potentially world-changing decisions made during those 45 minutes. The final scene setting up the various other plot strands for the series just made me groan, too.

Shame really, it could have been interesting.

I'm really enjoying it, loads going on and I haven't a clue what any of it's about! I like the captain and terminator guy and it's intriguing I'm going to stick with it :)

    Till it gets cancelled!

The penultimate episode at least gave some suggestion of closure.

Yeah, it absolutely shat itself. No one cares about on island capers.

Still with this and the mid season break until like march, there is absolutely fuck all on at the moment.

Funnily enough, with me being off ill I've started watching season 2 of American Horror Story, it's actually more interesting than the first.

It's incredible that they took a concept that could have been amazing and utterly fucked it. It reminded me a lot of Jericho - decent pilot and concept, let down by basically making it a fucking soap opera with trivial family matters taking precedent over, oh I don't know, nuclear freakin' holocaust.

Like a lot of US shows, they believe the concept carries the poor scripting and casting.
  • Deleted user 5 December 2012 15:18:12
It wasn't totally poor casting. Andre Braugher is fantastic in almost everything he does. But every other in the show character felt horribly generic. Though I did stop watching after episode four or so.
