I thought it would be useful to have a place to share promising Steam Greenlight projects.

    Here's two I've just found:

    Folk Tale
"Dive into the comedy-fantasy world of Folk Tale and lead your illiterate subjects to greatness, in spite of their moronic efforts to undermine you. Build a thriving economy, harvest resources, construct buildings and amass vast wealth, before losing it all on a doomed adventure through frozen wastes, volcanoes, and stinking swamps."

"McPixel is a save-the-day guy that you guide through short challenges in an oldschool point'n'click fashion. The goal in each challenge is to prevent stuff from blowing up using available tools! You have only 20 seconds to save the day! Think quick!"

I'm liking the look of Twisted Metal/Interstate 76 a-like Gas Guzzlers: Combat Carnage

A modern version of Descent in the form of Miner Wars 2081

There's also potential in this voxel based Minecraft clone Blockscape

I'm also waiting for Layernet to do Sedan Chair Simulator 1666

It looks excellent doesn't it? Like WarioWare does adventure games.

Ahh, I duped your thread, sorry.

    My vote:
Routine - looks good and I like the setting/style, I think it's going to be great.

Routine is a first person Survival Horror set on a abandoned Moon Base designed around an 80's vision of the future, Your job is to find enough data and survive long enough to uncover the truth behind the strange disappearance of everyone stationed on the Lunar Research Station.

Take a look at Dungeon Dashers on Greenlight.

It is a turn-based dungeon crawler with single- and multiplayer mode.

Hope you guys don't mind me doing a bit of self promoting. I've been working on a digital version of the board game Talisman for the past year and it's in the Greenlight system right now.

Talisman Prologue is a single-player game which is out now elsewhere, but we'd love to get it on Steam too, and Talisman Digital Edition is the full multiplayer board game experience which we've recently announced.

You can view them both from here.

Votes would be much appreciated! We're a really small UK developer and have financed the project ourselves so we need as much help as we can get. Thanks for listening.

I was about to ask if you got the rights, but I see you did - well done and good luck!

    Routine got greenlit. Awesome.

Yes we have the rights, as you've seen.

Unfortunately, despite an official license, we still have to go through Greenlight.

Just surviving a tangle with Games Workshop is an achievement. I have friends who did not emerge victorious from such and my one brief run-in with Pinnacle convinced me that RPG companies are rather prone to being litigious hypocrite arsewipes =)

Strange that. We've got a great relationship with Games Workshop and they've been very helpful with us so far.

Maybe they've mellowed in the last decade or so? Good news if so.

The excellent Apple Jack is on their and people are being rather negative about it so I suggest you all put them right. Or in the words of a Greenlight commenter more lucid than I:

I'm trying to find that PSone jRPG-esque game on here but can't. Stumbled across Stonehearth though, this looks really nice:

Bugbear of Flatout fame is self-publishing their new derby\racing game, working tittle, "Next Car Game".

NCG greenlight page went up last Friday, Sept 6. Please give it a vote.

Anyone remember Deus Ex Machina on the ZX Spectrum? It was a bizarre multimedia "game" by Mel Croucher with a soundtrack tape you ran along side the game that starred Ian Dury, John Pertwee, Frankie Howerd and others.

    Mel is doing a sequel...

Here's a video of the original. It's... remarkable.

Yes I do remember that game. Don't remember it being much good, but I'd have been a bit too young to appreciate it, I guess.

Valve wants Greenlight to go away

The original reasoning behind Greenlight was to get stuff people wanted onto Steam more quickly, because their own review team/process was too slow wasn't it?.

If they've managed to resolve that, or hope to resolve that, then from their perspective Greenlight will be surplus to requirement.

The problem is a lot of devs now seem to be using Greenlight as a promotional push, so they're all gonna have to find a different way to get noticed. But that's not really Valve's responsibility methinks. No doubt there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth though.

Hi! If you love puzzle platformer games, Algo-Bot is on Greenlight waiting for your vote :) The game is staring a little robot working in a power plant and your only weapon is code logic.

I voted myself for Insector War which is not my own game this time because it looks promising :)
