I use RapDialer and Connectivity Shortcuts a lot. Also, Proshot and Fotor for photos and editing, respectively.

I'm thinking of picking up a Lumia 920 (or maybe an 820 for the SD card expansion) - are users of these devices generally happy? Unhappy? I am coming from an iPhone, but the little I have seen of the new Nokias makes them look pretty tasty. How is Nokia music, & the Drive app? Thanks.

    Edit: typo

The only thing I'm unhappy about with the Lumia 920 is the lack of a generic phone search function, i.e. I can't search app/music). Oh and the lack of a decent mp3-playing audiobook app (they're all download from Skydrive bollocks).

Otherwise, best smartphone I've owned (HTC Hero, Legend, Galaxy SII, iPhone 4).

I've been on WP for about two and a half years now, and honestly wouldn't choose anything else at this point. I love my 920, especially its video capabilities, and I'm back to being perfectly happy again, as my Xbox Music issue has miraculously resolved itself.

Really tempted to get the 920 unless a new one is coming this year?

Wait three days and see what Nokia unveil in their London unveil-a-thon. Rumour is it'll be an updated 920, possibly a version of the 928.

Absolutely love my 920. It's so much nicer than the iPhone 4 I had last time.

    Nokia's next Lumia teasingly teased

... that camera is going to blow the competition away, again.

I'm excited to see what they unveil tomorrow. I couldn't be happier with my 920 (and have no plans to offload it), but excited none-the-less.

I'm still waiting for them to match the 808 tech with a higher res screen. In fact, I'd still take a symbianHD version if such a thing existed.
    Also, waterproof please.

I'm waiting for news of an update that completely overhauls the music player to incorporate audiobooks, a generic phone search function, about 15% more battery life from moderate usage, and when you switch to WiFi it cancelling out your mobile connection so you're not burning the candle at both ends, as it were.

    :)

In fairness, it isn't that much to ask for. The 808 tech is a year old at this stage. Doubling the old Symbian resolution (360x640) is not hard, 720p is even going to appear on mid-range devices this year. Waterproof phones have been on the market for years in Japan and now Sony have a raft of them coming out over here.

I'm guessing that basic things like having separate ports for HDMI, USB-OTG and charging your phone is really asking for the moon on a stick, despite only being common sense. My preferences clearly don't tally with a big enough market segment.

Lumia 925 confirmed - coming to Europe and China in June.

Slimmed down version with better camera and metal body. Wireless charging has been removed and memory downsized to 16GB. Supposedly a 32GB will be made available exclusively through Vodafone.

Anyone going to be picking one of these up? I'm happy with my Ativ S for now.

I like the look/specs of the 928 more. Shame it's US only.

I prefer pretty much everything about my 920, plus the 925 is missing wireless charging, which I do actually use.

EDIT - It does look very nice in WPC's video, though.

    I am the opposite!

I love everything about the Lumia 925, especially the astonishing reduction in the weight, size (look at how thin it blooming is!), the material used (although debatable), an OLED screen, which potentially means a longer battery life and the phones footprint is sssoooooo much better.

Looks like the camera technology is an improvement too.

... the lack of a micro SD card slot and vibrant colours are really the only very small negative points.

Saying that, I am quite content with my Lumia 820.

I do think it looks quite nice, and it's a good thing there are more choices out there. I just happen to think the 920 is the best-looking phone on the market right now. The dimensions of it don't bother me in the slightest, but then it is the slimmest phone I've ever had - 10.7mm vs. my Omnia 7 at 10.99.

When I think back to my Motoslvr L7e I had years ago, I remember that being incredibly thin, yet a quick search tells me it was actually thicker than my Lumia, at 11.5mm. And then there's the Omnia HD I had, which was 12.9mm, and the LG Viewty before that which was 14.8! None of those ever bothered me.

I can understand if you're used to thinner phones it might feel strange to get one that's a bit thicker, but for me it's a complete non-issue. As is the weight.

EDIT - Oh, also - I like that the 925 has an AMOLED screen. I do miss those inky blacks and the oversaturated colours really made my start screen pop on the Omnia.

Looks like a 'buy now, explain (to the wife) later' scenario?

Mass Effect Infiltrator and three others available as Nokia Exclusives.

Whatever happened to Dead Space? They announced that well over a year ago.

picked up a Nokia for a relatively good deal to replace my HTC desire HD which took an untimely bath.

So far i cannot fault a single thing, it's taken a little getting used to but it's incredibly slick and user friendly.

..oh wait no i do have a fault. and it's the same with all phones. my phone book / contacts are mine dont go forcing me into your bloody email system or whatever it is. I dont like having all my contact and my information thought about in regard to hotmail, other than that really enjoying it.

Is there a way to see the battery/Wifi/signal bit at the top constantly on the home screen instead of just on the lock screen or when you're in IE? (Just started my 8X tonight)
