No, just 7.5 and 7.8 in the near future.

Yeah, solid phone. Doubt you could do any better at its sometimes low current price, probably keep dropping to be honest. Upcoming cheap Nokia Windows 8 phones are another option if you want to pay a little more and stick with Windows Phone, bonus being WP8.

    http://www.nokia.com/global/products/phone/lumia620/

That or 820 which will probably drop in price as Nokia releases a billion different phones.

The 620 is likely to be utter shit, just as the 610 was.

I had a Lumia 800 for a year, it's a really nice bit of kit.

March is post CES and MWC so you will have moved on to something else by then :p
I can't believe carrier-branded phones are getting the update right now in the US but unlocked phones have to wait for February, this is totally messed up

Oh you mean a software update...duh.

Sorry I thought you were talking about a new hardware revision.

You're right though, after CES and MWC the 920 will do well to keep my lust. :)

    Come and get it cumslingers!

Can I ask anyone who has switched from Iphone to WP8 - Have you managed to get your music across onto it ok? Also how did you manage transferring your address book across without sitting and doing it manually?

@dr_swin Depends what format your music is. I've been using the Zune software as an alternative to iTunes for a number of years now and have been using MP3-320 as a minimum spec for my files so that transition was not an issue.

Contacts was a bit trickier. I exported my contacts directory to a GMail account and set it up that way. Remember the address book on WP7/8 works very differently to other OS in that it can auto-fill with Twitter/Facebook/whatever else crap so a lot of my contacts were updated via that link.

I am using itunes at the moment. Good idea about the GMail thing. I could do that - thanks.

Does the Lumia 920 actually exist outside of adverts? I've tried to see one in the flesh for weeks. My desire is somewhat dwindling now, I don't fancy having to hunt down a product anymore.

@dr_swin Haven't switched from iPhone but you can just set up your phone to sync media with iTunes and you're sorted.
As for contacts, the best way I found to do it was via Email sync. It also makes your life easier if you have to manage several devices, like a phone and a tablet.

@UncleLou It does exist, you're going to the wrong stores :D
Try Phones 4u first, EE tends to have nothing to show you.

Yeah, phones 4u had loads a few weeks ago when I was looking. I need to wait until it comes onto 02 though in the new year.

@dr_swin I was told by O2 that it is unlikely to be coming to them, due to it being touted as a 4G phone.

@Ignatius_Cheese But it's coming to Vodafone who doesn't have 4G either. In theory it certainly could go to all the networks.

I assume the unlocked ones offered by Clove still allow you to use 3G data?

Yup. Actually I'm constantly on HSPA+ whereas my 900 was limited to 3G.

The 8x is indeed lovely. Got mine on Three. It's a fantastic phone, but I think I'll be switching back to Nokia next November.

Not because it's a worse handset, but because Nokia actually support WP8 with apps and whatnot. HTC phones seem to be abandonware.

Hooray, my wireless charging plate has arrived! And it's... red. Certainly can't complain for a freebie though :)
