For what it is, and compared to high end Android phones it sure is pricey.

Only prices I've read are 599 in Italy and 649 in Germany.

Looks like I'm going to have to stick to iPhone :(

Is there nothing available on O2 or vodafone that runs wp8?

Sure is. The 920 is nice, but the other nokia WP phones are also worth looking at.

@superdelphinus O2 is carrying the 8X, don't know about Vodafone.

Engadget reviewed the 920. It becomes more and more evident the 8X is the better phone, shame about that storage though.

erm, did you read that review? 920 and 8x tie. Which you choose would depend on what's more important to you.

@Ginger I'm not basing that on that particular review, it's just the more reviews I read the more I feel reviewers overall prefer the 8X over the 920.

I've read most of the reviews and haven't seen anyone say that, do you have a specific review in mind?

Well I said it's a feeling so I don't have specifics in mind. Could be also because I follow most of these reviewers on twitter and they seem to only be talking about the 8X.

Because it's the only one currently available.

I can't believe that you can pick up a Lumia 800 sim free for 150 now most places, I realise that it's "outdated" but it shits on everything in that price range.

For me its the design, I love the polycarbonate body and the raised screen. Phone looks and feels better than anything I have had previously. So Definitely going for a 920 if I upgrade.

This Time to Switch advert was shown moments before Skyfall was on and, sitting besides a lady with her iPhone, it makes me realise just how lovely Windows Phone 8 really is ...

... genuinely hope it does well.

The white 820 seems quite nice, I need to see it in person although I doubt it would distract me away from the 920.
Anyone bought an 8X yet? This are definitely available now.

Any word at all when the 920 is gonna be available on other networks? Want to upgrade from my iphone in April but don't really fancy moving from O2.

Posted from my Nexus 4, not using Tapatalk 4.

    http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/mobiles/mobile-phones/NOKIA-LUMIA_820

Nexus 4 is 239 8GB and 279 16GB. Google offering quite the deal.

Nokia has 4G, Micro SD over it. Nokia apps are good. OS preference. Nexus 4 has better screen, perhaps camera and OS preference along with apps. Worth the extra 140 ?

Don't care about 4G myself at the moment.

920 is exclusive for only a two months or so but Nokia can extend it. Doubt it will last until April. Nokia are shooting themselves in the foot, that will become clear enough and they will do the right thing.

The 820 seems actually nicer than I thought but they got the pricing totally wrong I think. It's a great 299 phone.

Nokia and EE clarify UK availability.
You should just buy an 8X.

"T-Mobile and Orange will begin offering the device on 9 November."

Hooray! I can fuck EE off and stay on Orange then.

I've had confirmation that the 920 is immediately available in France (650) and Germany (600). I've asked to check if they're fully unlocked and am waiting for feedback on that.

@TRUTH Google doesn't seem to officially support WP so they only have a Google search app available. However there is a Google Maps app on the marketplace (and a few YouTube ones) that works great. I got it for free but never use it as Bing and Nokia Maps more than do the job.
Nokia has promised to support existing phones for a long time, particularly with the incoming 7.8 update. I have a 900 myself but I'm pretty set on moving to WP8 whenever possible just because I'm a sucker for new stuff :D

    Recommend Metrotube for Youtube access.

Nokia Maps and Bing Maps do the job, weird having both though, don't use any maps enough to say how good they really are though but never had trouble with my limited use. Nokia offline maps are very handy. That is one thing that kicks Google Maps in the nuts.

Also if you drive remember all Nokia phones come with Nokia Drive which is awesome. I used it for a week in France without data connectivity and never got lost.

totally agree. I use it as my main Satnav and I've never had an issue that wasn't caused by me thinking I knew better than it did.
