Qwak is the Swahili word for paedophile.

@beastmaster Yes it is. I think there's been an iPhone version for a while, I'm sure I remember playing it and thinking it was a shame that it was absurdly hard with touch controls. Made me pine for the Amiga version though.

I would have called it Qwak MD.

    Or Crack DD.

    But not Qwak HD.

I shouldn't make fun of Qwak addicts such as yourself.

I did enjoy Qwak a lot on the Amiga, but I got Qwak on the iPod and the touch controls really let it down.

Works with iCade and you can use iPhones or iPod touches as controllers! :)

If you were to release it on XBLIG I'd snap it up. Hell I'd even buy it from XBLA, it was one of my favourite games on the Amiga but I just found the iPhone version too tough. I generally don't have great experiences with platformers on iOS, so unless I ever get an iCade I'll have to pass.

Actually, was there a CD32 version? I think I might still have that somewhere.

Oh, and some of the posters here need to stop disrespecting a much-loved Amiga classic!

Wasn't the CD32 version the first one? That's the one I played first, then the Amiga version...then GBA, then PC. Have avoided IOS though as, other than RPG or Puzzle games, or some games that have been built purely with the IOS control system in mind, I find that they all control horribly.

I forgot it was on the GBA! I've played that version too. Wikipedia says it was on the Beeb first (never knew that), then the Amiga, then CD32 (it was an awesomely generous double-game disc with Alien Breed, I definitely still have it).

I remember why I played it on the CD32 first. It was when I ran a computer shop back in the 90's. We had a CD32 out for sale, and it was almost always quiet in the shop.

Regular sessions of Qwak and F1GP (on PC), along with Doom, naturally occurred during those years.

I may have played the Amiga version first though, I'm too old to remember. I knew it came out on BBC first but I'm not THAT old to have played that!

Yep, was on the BBC (and Acorn Electron) first, I can still remember developing it! Then on the Amiga, then CD32, then some French company ported it to Symbian mobile, then I did the GBA port (which was unlicensed by Nintendo). Then came the PC and Mac versions. Then iPhone. Finally (phew) it's on iPad.

I may have a look at porting it to Android devices at some point, though to be honest, I'm a bit fed up with it now, and want to move on to other bigger and better things. Which may include other platform games (may or may not feature ducks!).
