    The other new stuff is pins and recommendations. Pins is a section where you can 'pin' a game from your library, so a favourites really. Recommendations is probably what bob is on about with the more ads thing, it's tiles that say you might like X because you played Y. Personally I don't think that's anywhere near as bad as ads for Lynx or some shite like that.

    I hope they make the "quickplay" menu take more than the twenty seconds it takes to load now.

    Also, hide shit deeper in more menus please whilst putting advertising front and centre on a console with a subscription based online component.

    @spudsbuckley The quickplay menu is instant in the update, My Games menu still takes a age tho

    Quickplay is fast for me now, my games not so much. Pins sound possibly useful.

    @Mr-Brett I've been moaning about the lack of basic favourite functions forever, so hopefully this new thing is actually useful.

    Far as I'm concerned we should be able to stick 5-10 games on the very first screen so the whole console is a one-click experience.

    @ubergine It's useful because you only have to wait for as much as in your list to load rather than the entire library. The bad side is that it's replaced the library tile so if you want to get there you need to scroll across to games or go through the guide (which has also been jiggled about).

    That level of customisation would be great but sadly it'll never happen :(

    This. Can we pin games and apps to the home screen?

    Few games, Netflix and video player on the home screen would be perfect.

    Yes, right below the 'current game in drive' tile there's the 'pins' tile, you can pin any game or app to it.

    It's mostly pointless. It's just another tile like quick play and the stuff you'd want to favourite is likely to be in quick play anyway.

    @robthehermit How many titles can be pinned?

    Quickplay is pretty useless to me because it fills up with crap I don't care about for some reason (eg if I ever dare watch a game trailer then two slots in quick play will become Zune Movies and Zune Music.) I want to be able to favorite games I HARDLY EVER play, so I can find games I want to finish then favorite them, eg Shadow Complex and Outland. And about 15 others.

    The way you navigate games since the last update is appalling.

    its pretty much exactly the same as quick play except yiu choose the games/apps.

    I broke Pins - pinned something twice and now I can't remove the second 'version' of it. Beta \o/ :)

    Ah, pins arent what I was hoping for then. I wanted to just have all the squares on the homepage be pinned games and apps.

    Guess that would eat up on ad space. :rolleyes:

    @RedSparrows UI designers who create the interface for the user's benefit probably would. On my wildly-more-successful-than-Microsoft apple i-thing I can place the app menus in any manner I choose. On Xbox, I don't even have a UI, because I'm clearly not the most important person in the equation, so maybe it's an M$I or an FUI, that it is the user's privilege to wrangle a game out of occasionally.

    Favouriting the I'll-get-to-them-someday games that are lost in the ungainly list of 70+ items we now have since the last update is the best way I can imagine to reduce their horrible clutter and let me use the thing the way I want to for once.

    I like it tbh seems much better all organized than before and their is actually TV shows (seems FOX and BBC mainly, but AMC shows and others are up too) to rent per ep now from 230MSP (SD) HD was 320 i think, the mini blade thing looks a better res than it was.

    As for IE9 it works fine though not on a pad lol Kinect might be better but not got one, might be better when the Glass app comes out for iPad that will be tops as its like a keyboard/touchpad.

    Pins are great as said can pin anything from web pages to videos to games etc

    All in all much better.

    When is the update? I havent noticed any request to update when i turn on Xbox. Anyone know?

    You have to get the code from the beta site and enter it in the redeem code thing on the 360 - download the pass, it then downloads the dash after a few days.

    New update out tonight for both the dash and IE9, seems the same :)

    Using IE with a gamepad must be a nightmare. I have a chatpad, which should at least help a little.

    I don't expect IE will get much use from me, but I signed up anyway and was able to get into the beta. Hopefully it'll download as well.

    IE is not too bad. Better with Kinect where you can voice search, natch.

    I was in the middle of a game of RB Blitz the other night and it kicked me out for the update *_* ta MS.

    It had flash as I did watch some EG videos and some YouTube ones a few weeks ago looks like its been turned off.
