    See i think on xbox at least servers are gonna be a bit barren after a month. Looking forward to getting stuck in tonight.

    I am enjoying it (once again). It makes a difference not being killed by some AI helicopter, pack of dogs, homing missile or any other contrivance. If I die (which I do a lot!) it's because the other person got the drop on me. It's a very honest shooter (which it always has been).

    I have still got the old Dust skills though ;)

    I'd quite like to get this on Xbox, although I'm also worried the servers are going to dry up after a few months, in which case I might be better off with the PC version. Fingers crossed it's a success on Live then.

    Guess I'll be buying this. Might as well throw some more of my money Valve's way.

    I just hope it doesn't die a death as quickly as either section 8 or MNC etc as when most FPS' get released on XBLA. BF1943 being the only exception I can think of.

    It will die quick, I'm sure there will be a hardcore group keeping games alive. As far as main stream goes it has no chance, mw3 gets all the casual or twitch players and bf3 gets the players who like team games. Not much of a market left to pinch, especially when the mechanics are a decade old.

    My main worry is it not getting much support because of MS's rigid stance on giving things away and generally being nice in any way shape or form.

    Just played 45 minutes of this and i am not convinced. I was a massive fan back in the day and i still sucked with mouse and keyboard.

    With a pad i just find it very frustrating. Contemplating getting it on pc. Shame as i wanted it on xbox. Just think aswell in a couple of months playing against bots will be the only option.

    Yeah, for me it was so simple that by the second match the game felt the need to randomly delete all the controls bar the analog movement, leaving me able to run around alot and not do much else.

    Also, is it just me or is there a limit of 5 or 6 per team?

    The maps are designed for at least 8 a side like it is on PC.

    The game was developed with Hidden Entertainment too (the Defence Grid guys).

    I didn't have any problems with lag and I only swapped the reload and use buttons around, so no issue there either.

    I didn't much get on with the game itself though. It's a solid enough game but there's nothing all that new or unique about it (unsurprising given it's the 3rd? 4th? version), I can see the appeal but it's all a bit serious for me :)

    Please don't use the delete button, think of the children.

    The random control deletion can but put down to an glitch which may well be massively rare for all I know (I had a second profile logged in at the time which I logged out while the game was in the menus, maybe this caused it?).

    But the locking out of the right analog stick while using remapped Alt Fire and crouch functions I can replicate 100% everytime. That's a pretty bad fuck up which shouldn't have made it through playtesting let alone certification.

    My word this feels archaic! Wasn't a fan of it on the pc years ago and it is even worse on the 360. No loss I guess.

    The movement is horrible and the aiming doesn't really working on a controller. And all 3 games I've been in have been laggy (and others on server complaining about it too).

    The maps are still excellent, but doubt I will bother. If you have a pc and fancy the game then get it on that instead

    Still cant decide if to buy this or not. Maybe just stick to battlefield. Loved cs in the day but thats just it. 12 years ago it was the dogs nuts now? Not so sure.

    Shame because i loved revisitng the maps again

    Thought I would find it dull but I love it. The controls take time but seem fine. Overall a nice little throw back.

    Haven't had the chance to try it yet but it seems that it isn't going down too well.

    The ice skating has been a 'feature' of Valve games on console for years but I eventually got used to them. It's the narrow doorways that I always found troublesome.

    I'll give it a look and see if I can 'get' it. I've been looking forward to it so I hope it's not a let down. I may end up having to build that gaming PC.

    Couldn't get into a game online after two attempts so I opted to try out a game with bots.

    I can see the criticism about the ice skating and it feeling a little dated but I actually quite like it. The guns felt good and the lack of auto aim really puts the focus on a more considered game. Me and the bots definitely spent more time standing still or crouching whilst in a firefight. I don't know how it's going to translate in an actual game but I reckon I'll chuck it a tenner.

    On casual I felt that opponents took too much damage so I reckon I'll be playing on competitive.

    I'm very glad I didn't buy this. The demo is broken. I also got the 'reset controls' glitch, along with slow loading times, freezes, bad lag, inability to choose teams (even though I had) and the inability to buy weapons.

    I'm going to wait to see if things get better.

    EDIT:

    Oh, that's right - I couldn't fire my guns either. Or change to different people in spectator mode.

    I like it as well. Feels weird at first not using e a s d and a mouse to move and aim bit you do get used. Controls reset for me fixed by resetting to default.
