I used the fantastic search feature and nothing came up so apologies if there's already a thread about this.

Strike Suit Zero is a mech based space combat game. It's got a bit of a Wing Commander/Star Wars Jedi Starfighter look about it. It seems to borrow ideas from Macross.

The alpha footage from Rezzed looks nice. I've joined the Facebook group and got sent a free PDF artwork book, the ship designs have a nice R-Type or Vic Viper look about them.

    Gamescom article

Official Site is under construction at the moment. It suggests the game will be available on Steam and Origin, also coming to XBLA and PSN it seems.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this one turns out as I haven't played a decent space combat game in years, hopefully this'll change that.

Played this at Rezzed. Lots of fun. Took some time to get used to the controls, but had a blast with it.

It's a shame I missed Rezzed, it was only the other side of town but I was busy all weekend.

edit: Was it setup on flight stick and keyboard at Rezzed? I'd read that it can be played on joypad or M/KB too.

Three set-ups, one with a 360 controller, mouse and keyboard and a flight stick if I remember correctly. Tried 360 and mk. Preferred the 360 controller.

This looks pretty cool. I get a Colony Wars vibe from it.

Running Man, I think when I first read about it just around Rezzed the dev diary video showed it on flight stick, the inference being that was the only connected controller option at the time. I'd assumed that most people don't bother with flight sticks anymore.

I've never played Colony Wars so it didn't spring to mind but that linked article mentions "Strike Suit Zero scratches that Colony Wars and Project Sylpheed itch". I didn't get on too well with Project Sylpheed but I was playing on an overly dark screened standard def TV at the time, I should try it again sometime.

Also tried it a rezzed, i played with a good old stick.

My impressions were that it has potential, after all how many space dog fighting games do you see. But was a bit to early to tell if it work. It was in alpha state so was very ropey but iam not judging it as you can see where it might go.

I just remembered I played this at the EG Expo, in the Rezzed area. It was a lot of fun with a flight stick, but I'm not bloody buying one of those.

Errr... Anyway, yeah. Seems to be coming along really nicely and I'll give it some serious consideration on release. Have a trailer!

This game is actually really good. You can complete it in about 12 hours, get all 1000 so ignore the EG review, it's actually really easy.

Download Strike Suit Zero - Xbox 360 for Free - Click Here (13 days left until Expiry)

Mecha fans - Gundam, Macross, Mecha Assault, Armoured Core, Zone of Enders (missed any?) etc. This game is a must for your gaming mecha needs.

    Pilot gear suited, cockpit ready.

I've been really tempted to get this on Steam so many times, but never actually bought it.

The world is going mad. Me? I'm doing fine.
