Do you think that it will come to the west? I mean,it is a big possibility that MH4 will be coming, but before i still want to be able to try the new monsters from 3G... What is in your mind? Hope it comes |
There is probably no more hope left...

Hold on in there, The community manager at Capcom Unity recently said there will be Monster Hunter news relatively "soon". Whether thats in regards to MH3G or MH4 or both, who knows, but its by no means dead in the water just yet.
There are rumours going around that'll it'll see an eShop-only release, which is better than nothing, but seeing as Capcom are dragging out any kind of announcement, there's surely something in the works.
i hope so but i am doubtful

I can't say I'm a big Monster Hunter player, but is there a good reason for all of this pussyfooting around with Western releases of Monster Hunter?
Is the game full of Japanese dialogue or something else practical, or are Capcom just being dicks?
The biggest reason is probably that they know it won't work in the West without online play, and they know they'll only get one chance to get it right. If they set it up and it turns out poor and laggy for MH3G, with the niche Western MH community complaining about the jump to 3DS, it'll hugely affect any Western sales of MH4, which they want to make as successful outside Japan as possible.
Better to take their time and get the infrastructure right, if they release it here at all.
redcrayon hit the nail on the head there, but i'd still buy this game without the online. I've waited long enough for it. If I wanted to play online at all, I could have bought the Wii version a long time ago.
Apparently this is confirmation that Capcom is bringing a Monster Hunter game to the US in 2012.
Might need to track down a new Slider Pad Pro for the 3DS XL, me thinks.

im hoping that if it is released here that the spider pad becomes more easily purchased as High streets don't seem to want to stock them
Hope is reborn, it's coming march 2013 in the EU, simultaneous launch with MH3 Ultimate on WiiU.
Now has crossplay function. Fantastic stuff.

Ooooh, what's MH3 Ultimate??
Does this mean I will need to get a WiiU after all?
Did anybody else notice that they didn't mention online capabilities for the 3DS. Rather local play only? I think I might be getting the Wii U version now.

Given online play seems to be akin to running a MUD in a corner of your screen, I'll pass.
Yeah, I noticed that too. I think the idea is that you play online on the WiiU version. Shame really, the 3DS can clearly handle it.
I'm thinking of getting both if their is a bundle, or just the WiiU one if not.
Did you notice that Japanese copies of 3G are being patched to add crossplay in- that means that the Japanese servers of MH3 HD are going to be full of veteran 3G hunters on day 1!
It was always a long shot. I think we're lucky to be getting the 3DS version at all.
I would've bought a Wii U anyway, but this announcement sealed it.

I only ever played Tri briefly, and no previous MH, but i'm quite looking forward to this. Assuming there's some sort of deal for getting both Wii U and 3DS versions (prefereably a free 3DS download with the Wii U version) i'll likely get both. I can see myself losing a lot of time to it.
Hey Cid, long time no see!
Monster Hunter 4 to have online play. Even in Japan.
This is promising, although whether or not we get it will be down to how well Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate sells. Hopefully it gets a bit of a push when it's released over here.

I'm surprised they're bothering with 3. I thought they were going to completely skip those games and release 4, which will presumably have a lot more improvements.
After the mediocre sales of the previous games, I'm not sure what there is in 3G/Ultimate that would suddenly appeal to more people. I guess it's close to the Wii U's launch, so those who bought one might be looking for more games, but it has such a brutal learning curve that I can't see it ever catching on the way they want it to.
Being on a console and in HD gives MH3U the edge in terms of western appeal. They're looking to expand the audience here and this is a prime opportunity to do just that.
@redcrayon. Indeed. It's been a while.

Well 3 Ultimate has a shitload of new content apparently and is on a brand new engine, so it's not just an upscaled port. More of a remake with an expansion chucked in on top.
