Bird in log burner

    Anyone have a log burner? The wife noticed that there was something scratching round in the pipe above the log burner this morning. Apparently there has been no noise for the last few hours, so think what ever it was is probably dead now.

    Anyone know if I need to get it out or can I just light it up? Can't really be bothered taking it all apart.

    Just light it, the agonised screams that a sparrow makes as it burns to death aren't as bad as people make out.

    I would say get it out, you don't want to run the risk of it blocking it up and all the smoke having to find another way out...

    I suspect it's a mouse or a rat as above. Burning it may save you a stink from hades itself.

    It made its way to the door, so couldn't bring myself to light the fire. Quite a big starling, god knows how it got all the way down. Got it out now.
