I like the WiiU: What Went Wrong? article as well.

It's probably a 2 page spread which simply reads "Everything" in a massive font.

Valve have now added official support for the Oculus Rift to Half-Life 2!

..it works too! Although it needs work. Very cool.

Someone should probably have told Edge it looks nothing like that.

They have pictures of them wearing the unit in the article so they were aware. No idea why they chose to use that image, perhaps because it was prettier.

I doubt they'd get away with a "Believe The Hype" headline if they used this:

I'm having a lot of fun watching all of the videos for the rift on youtube. Looking forward to seeing it put to use in Hawken and other games where you are piloting something. I bet F1 would be ace.

So Bob, that flying around superman style demo, that wouldn't happen to be located in your dropbox folder, and if so, could you accidentally pm me that link?

Loads of racing stuff in the pipeline. And of course Euro Truck Simulator. :)

I could, but due to a bug there's a 35% chance it'd extract your soul and upload it to ebay.

    I like those odds!

Say, have you got HL2 running in VR mode yet?
I want to set my IPD but it seems the calibration tool is only included in TF2.
So I'm downloading that now just to set my IPD for HL2. Apparently your IPD is stored somewhere in steam, so if you set it in one game it should be good for all other valve games.

I'm working on it now. When I get a good config I'll post the details to the site as it needs some tweaking as you say. Most have been calibrating in TF2 and hauling the config over directly.

Tnx bob, will try this out. You know what would be great for roadtovr? A page with all the demos that are supported right now.

HL2 and TF2 are totally unplayable for me, the right eye image is displayed 8 pixels too high, and it hurts my eyes. None of the other demos I've tried had this.

I read this on the dev forums and the jury seemed to be out as ot the cause. Whatever the case, it doesn't seem to affect me.

HL2 is brilliantly implemented actually. Not only can I play this awesome game again, the depth perception actually helps you be better. The way they've implemented the separate gun / body / head rotation just seems to work. I'm actually extremely surprised.

How does it handle skyboxes? Things like the citadel were just using graphical trickery to make it seem like it was miles off in the distance. Presumably it's sorted for 3D/Rift/whatever, but I'm just curious as to how.

Indeed - but it works. Leaving the station in the first episode, that legendary exit with the citadel in the distance, you have to have your head right back to see the top. It's odd that such an old game seems to have been built properly for stereo from the beginning. Valve quality I guess .. :)
