Not necessarily my definitive list, but certainly 10 films I would have no problem stating they are one of the best films ever. To me anyway. It's a tough call because I could probably list a hundred more that equally should be there.
A Bittersweet Life over Oldboy? Also have you seen I Saw the Devil, has the leads from both those two films in?

Hate to the be the rules Nazi here, but this thread is entirely populated by people who can't count to ten or think LOTR was a single film.

LB, you really are a massive geek.

Yeah I'd stand by that. I still rate Oldboy very highly and it has been a very long time since I last saw it. But I have always thought Sympathy for Mr Venegence was the best in the Vengence trilogy. Maybe I need to rewatch it I guess, but I still think the previous was the better.

But I still think A Bittersweet Life is Byung Hun Lee's best leading films. Though I know many would disagree, he's been in some great films. I watched I Saw the Devil recently and loved it. It did come close knocking off A Bittersweet life but I still liked it more. Its a tough one though, a top 10 of all time is not enough to cover all the excellent films I've seen. Needs to be by genre at least to get a definitive list imo.

Au Hasard is excellent. Probably wasted on this lot though if Dumb and Dumber keeps making their top 10...

I thought The Beach was better than critics gave it credit. Pretty faithful to the book tbh.

My Top 10 Films (films I can watch time and time again)

    Alien (1979)
An American Werewolf in London (1981)
    Jaws (1975)
    Scarface (1983)
    Stroszek (1977)
    Taxi Driver (1976)
    The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
The Spy Who Loved Me (1977)
    The Terminator (1984)
    Les Valseuses (1974)

When I really give it some thought, there are very few films I can watch time and time again, which makes me question why I own 14+ Blu-rays 600+ DVD’s and about 40+ Downloads (and some VHS tapes, remember those ?)

Looking at the list above, for me atleast, it maybe shows they used to make better films, or atleast films with more replay value. The newest film that almost made the list was The Dark Knight (2008) as I have watched that a number of times based on the strength of the performance by the Joker.

Edit: Blade Runner should maybe in there too ^_^
