Had a mate over from Bermuda recently and we were talking about this. He pays $60 pm for 4mb. Pretty steep.

I pay about 70 Euros per month for 120/10 Mbps, basic cable TV package (32 channels) and free local telephone calls.

Currently have Sky unlimited because I'm a Sky Sports subscriber at a ridiculous price of 65 a month for the whole package.

I know we pay about 50 for Digital TV, Internet and Phone but the internet is a bit shite and I want it upgraded. In America you get ripped off and in Australia you can't get unlimited so by the end of the month your internet is slow.

    In New Zealand.

    Starts at

$75 per month (39) 5 Gig Max data allowance.

    up to

$105 per month (55) Max 120 Gig Data allowance.

And the speeds are SHIT. It is a joke.

    Edit NZ dollars.

Ireland, on mobile broadband with 3 - costs 25 per month for up to 3mb speeds with a 15gb monthly limit.

Parents are paying around 10 per month for (fixed line) up to 1mb speeds with a 10gb monthly download limit. That's as part of a bundle with phone calls that costs 55 per month.

    Thailand, True Online.

7mb / 1mb. Seems to be unlimited... Definitely did 200gb one month.

650 baht, which is about 12 quid.

Currently I'm on a 8mb with no download limits + tv (100 channels) + phone with unlimited local calls, it costs me around 40 euros a month.

Not very happy with it, the net speed is mostly shit (sometimes less than 1mb), so in the end of the year I'll be changing the service provider to a new one with 100mb with no download limits + 110 tv channels + phone with local unlimited calls. It'll cost me around 60 euros... a bit expensive!

Nah, fiber to the house + fantastic contract with the ISP. Internet cost is generally pretty low in Sweden.

30/30 unlimited fibre for about $60 a month. Hard to tell precisely what with all taxes, fees and regulatory levies.

That must be subsidised or surely they'll be running at a loss?

Dunno TBH. If it's not at a loss then it surely must be pretty close to breakeven. As I wrote, our area has some kind of special contract with the ISP (as those speeds normally costs abt 30/m - still comparatively cheap, but...). There's probably a few houses sharing the same 100mbps line, but I must say I haven't really noticed - if from a good source, downloads hover at around 10 MB/s consistently.

100/10 with Virgin Media, about 40quid/month, unlimited with throttling kicking in at defined limits, though I haven't really noticed the throttling and I'm a heavy user.
