Found out I'm getting a laptop to celebrate being on this planet for 21 years and I'm quite keen on the HP Pavilion g6-1309ea laptop. The only trouble is I know bugger all about gaming hardware for PC's and there's certain games I hope I can play on it. Here just afew I hope for it to run: Two Worlds II, Diablo III, The SIms 3, Spore, Tropico 4, Marvel Heroes (when it finally comes out) and Arma II. If you guys could tell me if it can run them I will be so happy |

No dedicated graphics card means won't be much cop for gaming at all.
you know that episode of the inbetweeners when Simon gets bought a car?
its a bit like that.
The A4-3305M is an APU. It has dedicated silicon on the die for graphics.
It's the lowest end Llano A4 but it will play games at low to medium settings just fine, certainly better than an intel sandy or ivy bridge based system.
This HP Pavilion g6-1331ea is £380. It's a refurb but it's an A8-3520M and would give you more than double the framerates in 3D games.

If you are still deciding, I just saw this on hotukdeals too, via play.com.
£300 (was £350)
Just had a quick google for the just released Trinity Fusion based AMD APU laptops. Trinity is the sucessor to Llano.
I found this Samsung 355V5C Series 3 15.6 for £279 delivered from Amazon. It's an A6-4400M based Trinity laptop.
If it isn't a misprice, Amazon are doing this for £100 less than anywhere else. It's quicker than the HP pavilion in the opening post.
60FPS at 1366x768 high settings on Diablo III according to game debate.
@FutileResistor would that laptop handle latest games such as fifa 12/13 Dirt 3 arkham city witcher 2 crysis 2 etc on decent settings?
Can Anyone in the know tell me what the laptop can do?seems hard to get info on it

Sorry, I don't check the forums every day, so missed your post yesterday.
The Diablo III link on my post takes you to a page where you can select those games for analysis and get benchmarks at different resolutions and quality settings.
Don't expect too much it's a £370 laptop, although going for £279.

You're basically going for the cheapest full size laptop possible, and want to know if it'll run crysis 2?
Crysis II may actually be playable at 1366x768 31 FPS.
Witcher 2 would be slideshow city.
@Fake_Blood Well i'm no expert but acording to the tests it can play it at decent settings? To me 25 fps is ok from a latop.every game i checked it runs decent which for me on a budget level laptop is good. As said it even runs new diablo on high settings and thats a intensive game.the only game it struggles with is witcher 2.also the price that you refer to is no longer available although still in budget range at £420
Diablo 3 isnt a great benchmark for a machine btw it will run on pretty much anything.

I don't really think scraping Low settings as acceptable, you should really be looking at playing older games on it, rather than the links of Arma II, Two Worlds II.
This little summary is pretty much it:
"The performance of the Radeon 6480G should be in the entry level class of dedicated graphics cards. According to a benchmark by AMD, the 6480G positions itself between the HD 6370M and the HD 6470M. In our gaming benchmarks, the HD 6480G is only on the level of a slow Intel HD Graphics 3000 graphics card. Therefore, modern games like Anno 2070 are playable only in minimum detail settings and low resolutions. Some demanding games like Battlefield 3 wont be playable at all."
If you want to play games, you need to up your budget by about £100.
Oh that was about the first laptop. The second one mentions integrated graphics, so it could very well be Intel 3000 for all you know, which would do nothing.
Looking at my work Elitebook on that site shows that it has a rather decent dedicated chip, the reality is that my version has the integrated 3000... which can do next to nothing.
