How Do You React To Slender?

    Anyone here played Slender at all? Had a few friends over the other night to try it and couldn't believe how effective it was at terrifying us.

    Just been watching a bunch of reaction videos of people playing the downloadable horror indie title to see if anyone reacted like we did. Found a funny one in the video above. One guy freaks out worse than I did.

    So what does everyone else think of the game? As scary as they say? Or just hype?

    It must be scary I suppose when you're playing it, as the videos show.
    Just from watching it though, it looks total shit and not scary at all.
    I guess it's about immersing yourself in it.

    I shat myself, then quit. Every time. It is far more effective when you play it rather than watch it, with that feeling that someone is right behind you, watching. Waiting. It's unsettling rather than outright scary most of the time, though later on it gets pretty freaky!

    If you watch people during the day it's not scary. Play it on your own at night with a set of headphones and it's a completely different story.

    I thought it was about as scary as having a slightly larger than normal poo. And I'm normally a pussy when it comes to scary games.

    Must admit that I found Slender gets real boring real fast. It's a very tedious little game - if you want a truly great horror game with bags of atmosphere, play Amnesia: The Dark Descent (and look out for Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs, due out early 2013 - possibly January).
