An Odd Quartet is now available!

A quartet of dark short stories (10,000 words) to thrill and chill.

    The Yellow Lady
Grave robbing is a dirty business, in more ways than one. When he disturbs the grave from a childhood scary story he discovers it's not always treasure to be found.

    This Empty Place
At the heat death of the universe, Death contemplates his existence.

    Forced Entry
Terrorists seize an average suburban house. A Special Forces hostage rescue team is sent in and encounter more than they were trained for.

    The Reluctant Demon
A young demon prepares to take his possession exam.

So, I finally got around to start reading this afternoon and I've got to admit I'm really enjoying it. I'm up around the 50% mark and looking forward to finishing it off later.

First review for An Odd Quartet and it is my first Goodreads review as well. Yes that does make me special :-)

As the name implies, this is a novella length book containing 4 short stories. Their themes are both the usual and the unusual - the ghostly haunting, the personification of Death - a Swat Team entering a building and a Demon undertaking his Demon Test! They are dealt with very imaginatively and I really enjoyed reading them. The endings are all a little different from what you'd imagine and I like that in a story. I don't like to know or guess the ending.

Michael Brookes' writing style is easy and accessible. He can certainly turn out a story you will remember.

I've just finished it off and I've really enjoyed it. Well done TH you should be proud at what you produced. The only problem I had was I found it a little on the short side and wanted more!

Are there going to be any more in the series?

I'm pleased you enjoyed it. There is going to be a sequel, I'm working on Conversations in the Abyss. I hope to be releasing it in the new year.

If you'd be willing can you leave a review?

Just out of curiosity, TH, how much of the 77p do you actually get, if you don't mind me asking?

Been meaning to post about The Cult of Me for a while - really enjoyed it, started to get slightly worried about the religious aspect but you left it vague enough to be left open to interpretation which was a nice touch.

An Odd Quartet is next on my list.
