For millions of years they have bern telling these stories, perhaps the most metaphorical in existence. Now, rejected by education and common sense, they return to gay up financial discussions. Not for them to explain themselves, they thought you were clever and encouraged you to ponder it for yourselves, whilst never telling you what they were talking about. And then they rolled their eyes.

The key to building a campfire that'll burn for millions of years, is to put damp wood at the bottom, and dry wood at the top.

    In here Madgod, in here.

So, I just want one thing. An example. Tell me a myth that has been recounted fir millions of years, tell me what it is really about, and tell me the truth it contains that can't be found anywhere else.

If you tell me that it isn't your job to do my research at least point me in the right direction. If you say you thought I was clever and should be able to figure this oit myself I'm going to poo through your letterbox.

    Just try and engage.

LB, you really are a massive geek.

    What's scarier...

    1) He believes he is of Norse decent bit clearly has them and the Normans confused.
    2) He uses Norse myths as guidance in life.
    3) He has no idea what myths actually are.

I would like to know Maddogs credentials.

Age and level of education would make a great starting point.

If by that you mean the descendants of those raped and pillaged by the Norse, then sure. No doubt some of them settled down with them but the Normans had their own cultural identity, which madgod seems to be confusing with Norse.

You are inhumanly swift at scanning 353 million images of Normans for signs of Barry Norman.

A norse is a norse, of course, of course
And no-one can talk like a norse, of course
That is, of course, unless the norse is the famous Dancing Monster

Actually they were 'proper' Norsemen who'd settled down in the North of France. They adapted a little bit (i.e. took up the language, stayed permanently rather than buggering off) but were still pretty pillidgy and rapey to their neighbours and more than happy to call in reinforcements from back home.

The fact that people thought otherwise is basically just a PR win for them. Mainly as they generally won, being Vikings and all. But then they tended to win all over Europe (except Spain iirc) so that wasn't particularly abnormal...
