    From Screen rant

Surprise! We were also treated to a teaser for the Godzilla reboot, followed by some thoughts from director Gareth Edwards (Monsters). It was VERY serious in tone, lots of imagery depicting the devastated metropolitan settings and destruction wreaked by Godzilla and his fellow building-sized monsters. Audience was quite receptive, especially after Edwards discussed just how passionate he was about the project.

I wonder if Matthew Broderick is shaking his head and shuddering with his memories.

I don't know what to think about this. It could be cool I guess but I'm wary of American adaptions

I'm one of those strange people that enjoyed the US version of Godzilla.

My books, contests, reviews and author interviews on my blog

    @TechnoHippy

Yeah, me too. Though I have to say I've never really been a Godzilla fanatic so to me it's just a film about a ruddy huge great monster.

    Brilliant teaser trailer

Looks like its going to be a pretty adult dark film, those bodies around that train were grim

If it's anything like Monsters there'll be one scene with Godzilla in. Possibly him trying to mate with some brontosaurus bones at a museum. The rest of the film will be a badly acted romance between to unlikeable people.

    WTF was that trailer.

Godzilla movies are NEVER about dudbro American marines vs the big Kaiju. Incredibly disappointed. Point totally missed.

Heh, the Godzilla the Japanese hated so much they killed him off in off in like ten seconds.
    Yeah that was brilliant.

I think it looks OK. The jump scene was pretty cool but, yeah, theyve basically blown their wad on that now. I hope thats not the centerpiece of the movie.

Godzilla itself looks like it could be pretty tasty. Its big enough and it looks like its fucked up NY or whetever good and proper.

It seems quite an odd pick for the director. A Godzilla film would be almost the polar opposite of what they did in Monsters.

The trailer makes the film look a decent prospect. Might 3D it.:-)

By the looks of this trailer, it seems like its about a bunch of marines chasing Godzilla as he goes...deeper underground.

As long as they don't shoehorn in a Kaiju reference, I'll be happy.

Also, the one shot of the poor sods crushed in and around the train wreckage intrigues me, perhaps a more no holds barred approach to Godzilla...

It looked like it would've been a great way to open the film, probably not so much now they've shown it.

Yeah I was thinking the same.

Would be fun if they kick-off in the midst of the destruction, no fannying about.

Anyway this looks like it could be okaaaaay. It's got Cranston anyway.

Didn't they already do Godzilla V American marines in the last western Godzilla?

Didn't know Cranston was in it though that guarantees a watch at least. Really not expecting much though.
