    GLOL at Deckard1

I think it looks awesome. What's not to like. Guillermo + live action Neon Genesis Evangelion + GLaDOS = win. Surely nothing can go wrong with this? I mean, I've not been so excited by a trailer since the Prometheus trailer and look how amazing that turned out.....oh! :S

I do very much hope this turns out well though, otherwise I'll be stuck forever wondering what might have been if the stars had aligned to set Guillermo free on The Hobbit...

It's about as "live action" as Toy Story

Looks like another cheesy America saves the world movie. Surely not though if Del Toro is at the helm?!

    From the trailer, I'll pass.

Well i dont know much about the story but from the trailer it looks like quite a bit of it is set in Japan. And also one of the main hero's is Japanese, so with the current info we have im not sure where all the cheesy American stuffs coming from.

Nah, just don't like cheesy America saves the world films any more, not exactly original is it.

"Lets go fishing", "today we are cancelling the apocalypse!"

    Seriously? LOL.
They're proper action movie lines though. I'd put money on a robot fist bump and a training montage too.

Looks like good old fashioned b-movie monster stomping to me. Brilliant! :D

"Pacific Rim" suggests Japan, Indonesia, west coast of US...

    The voice of glados?

Obviously the company that makes the robots is aperture science and the dimensional rift leads to xen.

I'm interested to see how Charlie Day works as an action hero. Presumably he's not going to be the Day Man.

This could definitely be the "so bad it's good" film of the year!

All that technology and our greatest attack is a punch to the face.

Looks terrible even though I love del Toro. I'm getting old and stupid giant robots don't excite me anymore.
  • Deleted user 29 April 2013 18:28:48
    I'm going with awesome.

That looks brilliant. Cheesey and silly but in an awesome way.

Big robots without Bay and giant monsters without Matthew Broderick could be the best movie in years!
