Combination of all three really. Bit, of ball movement and irregular bounce, good, disciplined, but not spectacular bowling from SA and some pretty nervous shots from England.

385 all out. Not a bad total, but should have been more really. Hope it sets up an interesting test match.

Yeah, it's a good 100 short given where they were at when play started

I'm listening to TMS and I've got the telly on in the living room (my 'office' is in the dining room which is next to the living room). The TMS feed is slightly ahead of the TV, so when something happens, I just turn round and see the action unfold on the telly. Only trouble is, there is a beam that obstructs some of my view ... and my wife has just got home and put Diagnosis Murder on instead.

    Is this helping, jonsaan?

I love it when it rains during a match and TMS is like this :D

Watching it now on five :D

Streaky old innings from Prior but he does the business again.

Their bowling attack is fantastic I must say.

    What a day!

As of this morning I was dreading a dull England victory or draw. But then some fast wickets livened it up and I looked for the collapse. Only for England to recover to post a decent tail end total.

Then SA come on to lose Peterson straight away and my heart sank, only for Smith and Amla to put on a great steadying stand to leave England ahead, but the game still to play for.

    God I love test cricket.

Smith seems to love pummelling English bowlers.

Quite possibly the most turgid days cricket I have ever seen. I predict a flurry of wickets in the morning.

I wish I were as optimistic as you, jonsaaaaan.

For all the great drama of Test Cricket, days like that make me wish I'd spent my time doing something, anything, else. The writing was on the wall when the sun came out to play; the ball only swung on day 2, and that's when all the wickets fell.

Tomorrow should be more exciting, anyway. SA have a lot of wickets in hand and know they can't lose the game, so they'll want to score quickly and put England into bat sometime in the afternoon.

England uses the duke ball for test cricket right? It doesn't swing in sunny conditions oddly. The SG ball used in India does.

The kookaburra swings in every condition but is as soft as a tennis ball after about 20 overs.

Cricket writers on tv (Sky Sports) are chatting about the England bowling attack right now. Very interesting.

I'm so hungover! I'm only going to need topping up at the Oval :)

Get Amla out and the rest will tumble...I hope.

    Come and get it cumslingers!

If it's anything like yesterday you are going to get drunk as a skunk. Hopefully it will be a little more engaging. Once Amla is gone AB is in! Arguably the best of the lot!

I think everything will be a bit formulaic from here, Saffers will push the run rate up with a view to getting a 250 lead around tea. England will be setting defensive fields to contain the damage and delay the declaration.

Whatever happens, England will need to bat out 4 sessions for a draw.
