    In other news, Etrian Odyssey IV manages 2nd place with a solid start on the 3DS. Little Battlers also does decently.

    Hardware wise, it's flat. Drops all round and aside from the 3DS, everything is selling under 15,000 units. Oh dear.

    Pokemon remains top of the tree in Japan. Soon you'd expect it to evolve into a new version but alas that hasn't happened yet. Taiko no Tatsujin and Pocket Soccer (Football) League hit 2nd and 3rd place respectively while Level 5 continues to lose their way with an embarrassingly torrid first week with Time Travelers only selling around 9000 units on both 3DS and Vita EACH. Torrid because Level 5 expected 500,000 - 1m units!

    Only the 3DS showed any movement in the hardware charts week on week with a drop of 4000ish units (though still plenty to take top spot - even with 3DS XL coming soon). All other platforms stayed steady from last week.

    I'm pleased to see Tokyo Jungle still charting.

    Considering the budget it was produced on, it's already a minor hit on Japanese sales alone. If only SCEJ had commissioned a regular supply of games like this throughout the generation.

    Holy cow! Pokemon is vulnerable to pink balls of fur! It was super effective! etc. Yes, Pokemon has finally been toppled (just) by Kirby's Dream Collection, celebrating Kirby's anniversary (25th?). Rune Factory 4 outsells Rune Factory 3's lifetime sales in a single week while Digimon World comes agonisingly close to nicking it's place. Aside from that, Baseball dominates.

    3DS continues to lead the hardware charts but Wii is the big winner with a 3000 unit jump from last week thanks to Kirby. Vita drops 2000 units, while PSP gains 2000 units. Everything else is fairly static...

    3DS starts a new lease of life with the XL launching in Japan. The XL helps 3DS to absolutely decimate the competition in the hardware chart while New Super Mario Bros 2 sells 3 times more than nearest rival Persona 4: Arena. Pokemon drops to 4th thanks to those 2 titles and Nayuta no Kiseki.

    If you looked at the release list as a Japanese chart aficionado for last week and thought anything other than Dragon Quest X was going to top the software charts, you would have been shot on the spot. Dragon Quest X expectedly slams to the top of the chart and it looks like there's no ill effect of DQX being an online game.

    As for hardware, well 3DS rules the waves, while Dragon Quest X helps Wii a lofty total. A true hardware seller. Vita drops another 1000 units week on week.
