You could remove the credit card after making the purchase

Does anybody have any recommendations for a cheap game controller for the Nexus 7?

Unfortunately, I don't. I assume a dodgy Chinese knock off from ebay would do the job though. In which case that could be a good shout.

I do have a wiimote and classic controller, but 4.2 broke those apparently. How long do these things usually take to sort out, because I could just wait for a bit.

Sorry if these are stupid questions, I have zero experience of android.

Does anybody use their Nexus to read magazines? Always been a big skeptical of this, but the price of Total Film seems like it'd be worth it! Does it have all the features of the iPad version of Total Film? I know theirs is an 'interactive edition'.

@Tonka Thanks again for the info. Thankflly I understand that you need a different launcher, to change the behaviour of the main screens. I have UCCW as well. I'll check out your other apps over the weekend. And the whole installing apps from desktop to phone certainly works perfectly on Android devices. Windows Phone 8 also offer the feature, but in my experience it is a broken feature. Certainly no app I have tried to send from desktop to my HTC 8X has ever arrived.
And this feature is not currently available on iPhones. But I guess it will arrive in iOS7, where it will be hailed as a revolution and innovation.

I've just bought a copy of Retro Gamer to try and to be honest it works fine. Also costs 2 less and obviously more portable. Just needs a bit of pinch and zoom but I love it on my nexus and will definitely be buying more issues. Also if you want to try a magazine, just download a copy of Shortlist on there. It's free and will give you an idea as to what it's like.

Wow. The stuff I am doing with my phone is like magic.

If someone would have told me two months ago, when all I had was an iPad 2, that I'd be using nothing but free apps to do the following I wouldn't have believed it possible.

I was streaming a film from my nas when there was a bit in Chinese that I couldn't understand.

So I downloaded a zipped sub file, extracted it and moved it to my nas sheer I renamed the file and got the sub's for the film.

All using nothing but my phone and free apps.

    Bowled over.

Ah, good! Glad to know it's at least usable then. I'll give the free trial a shot and see how I get on.

Some people may find it just a bit too small compared to a bigger tablet for reading but personally I think it's great, especially in landscape mode. It just feels right!

I've just fired it up and there were 3 mags for download. Net, men's health and vogue. Downloaded Net and its pretty good. I *might* buy some more.

Now Google want my passport scanned before accepting the order. I'm done with them, what a shower of wankers.

I really wish there was an alternative product because frankly I don't want them anywhere near my company's money.

I'm confused, are you ordering from Play Store direct? How many are you ordering? Seems really fucking odd that they require all this info to process an order!?

Barclay's bank recently placed an order for, something like, 6,000 iPads - do Apple make company's jump thru the same hoops?

Would assume Barclays are purchasing through a corporate account with an established relationship and order history in place, whereas Psychotext is using a personal account and placing a first time order for a product with a recent track record of easy profit from ebay flipping. If it's using a credit card that could add to the doubt.

(not saying I agree with Google's sales approach, just commenting on potential reasons)

I'm ordering two ffs... just two. I'll eventually be ordering 30, but frankly I really don't want to any more.

...and yeah, direct through their store as they're the only place these things are currently available.

Is far more likely that they are obsessed with psycho and want to find out as much about him as possible. A guy I know in Germany days that Google can identify strong influencers and that once that do that never let go.

Personally I'd change name and leave the country if I was him. That and switch to windows phone.

Ah, thought you were going straight in with the bulk order. All that for two?! Fuck that!!

For some reason, reading the "sat on..." then "front back or both" I thought you meant was the screen smashed by balls or by buttocks.

Front. It's my 7 so there is only glass on the front. Expecting around 50 for a repair.

    Any more and it's junk.

Torn between this and a PS Vita. How do you guys find the Nexus 7 as a media player (does it handle a range of video and audio codecs)? And is the screen using Gorilla Glass?

I can speak for Android rather than the Nexus specifically and there are players which will play absolutely everything you can throw at them.
