There may be some truth in what Darktrooper says, as the manufacturer had some complaints about the magnets and a loose fit. They revised the design though, and I can't fault it.

Best to read through the reviews I suppose.

Anyone who streams any kind of media over their home network would be wise to try using skifta, integrates just about everything I've tried. Free as well.

I recently bought this Poetic case for mine - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B008NMCPTQ/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1352300836&sr=8-2&pi=SL75 It's a bit pricier than the others at 20 but it fits extremely well, hardly adds to the overall thickness of the nexus and has the magic magnets as well :)

I'm going to have to try dice, but I'm very happy using skifka and servio on the PC. Only significant limit is the bandwidth of your wireless network.

Why is it poetic? Does it read Byron to you?

Ta for the link, I got mine on release so I think I might qualify ?

Any idea where I find my serial number, the box is in the loft and i can't be arsed getting it down.

I tried the serial number in the status box in settings but it says it in incorrect on the asus site, it begins with 015.

    @steellam

May need a trip to the loft. :)

The only way I could find the number was on the box - it's the SSN code (beginning with a letter, most probably C) rather than the CSSN code which is stored on the N7.

And you should qualify as the coupon is a sweetner for those people who bought an N7 before the price was reduced. I bought mine last month and have managed to submit my details, so I guess I have to wait for a confirmation email at this point.

Thanks for the link! Shame I already got a case, suppose I could sell it on, wonder what other stuff they sell on the ASUS site.
  • Deleted user 10 November 2012 09:26:22
Hmm there's this case, it looks really nice, and thin, but I don't think it unlocks the screen on opening and no stand. Not much other Nexus 7 stuff from what I can see.

The 10 is probably too expensive for me, but I take it the Nexus 7 is pretty good then?

    /should really read some reviews.

Keeps getting referenced as "surprisingly good" in the tablet reviews I've been reading; apparently nothing else touches it at that price.

    Good spot for the link.

Cant get the Asus site to accept my serial number though. Got the box here and tried the number from off the device itself (settings/about device/status) and still no joy.

Edit: Finally registered. The serial number shown on the Nexus itself IS NOT the serial number required for registration. It's the SSN number on the box itself. And be aware that 8's 6's O's and 0's are EASILY mistaken for each other. In my case, what clearly looks like an 8 on the label is in actual fact supposed to be a 6.

Slightly frustrated - I only need the 16GB version but it seems the cheapest you can get that anywhere is 170 ish, whereas you can find the 32GB version for 200 on the high street. 30 for double the storage seems like too much of a bargain, and yet I'm sure 16GB will be enough for my uses.

Anyone know of anywhere I can get the 16GB for 160?

Thanks dunny but Argos seem to be charging 199 for the 16GB now, and I've heard enough horror stories about CW to avoid them like the plague :/

Well it's just annoying to have to pay the 10 delivery charge, making a 159 product cost 169, when you can buy the 199 32GB model on the high street with no delivery charge. A minor point maybe but slightly frustrating. Plus you have to wait for delivery!
