    Yes I'm aware they are wildly different in that regard, I however happen to be in a place where I either get a Nexus 7 or a Surface (a surface pro at that)

    While they are in significantly different price brackets I can only justify one to myself as two tablet like devices is just overkill regardless of the relative functionality of both.

    Help! I'm sure I'm being stupid here but cannot fathom how to play music that I've copied onto my Nexus from my computer. I've put it in the music directory (.wma files) but for the life of me all I can seem to play is some music I downloaded from Amazon. Can anyone help? Ta.

    I'm pretty sure that Android's default music player doesn't play .WMA files. Get Winamp or something like that.

    edit: I'm sure it would be a licensing issue - my Galaxy Nexus has no problem with things like .FLAC files, for example.

    It was the type of file.... MP3 works fine. Although the website does say it supports WMA's.

    So I just cracked and ordered a nexus 7. Got the 16GB version as I'll probably use it as much for games as anything else.

    I'm gonna get my arse kicked when the missus finds out, she wants an ipad :)

    Can't link, (on mobile) but he's now selling them under the user name 'machyndman' apparrently based in Kent. Only has a feedback rating of 5, and the only feedback form the last 9 years is dated a couple of days ago for selling the same iPhone case as the original listing. Worth reporting to eBay?

    Reading about a hell of a lot of people with screen issues,screen separation and bad screen flicker.thankfully none here yet

    Well, my human guinea pig experiment came to an end today...with a full refund from eBay/Pay Pal. Huzzah!

    I knew I'd be covered, both by Pay Pal and my credit card. Worth the risk/hassle? No - but I'll probably end up doing something equally foolish in the near future.

    Yes, they are.

    Go onto the Humble Bundle website, pay what you desire then you shall be able to download them via the unique link you will be asked to go to (check your e-mails!) ... easy peasy.

    @CharlieStCloud i'm guessing those will be apks that you sideload. how do they update as they're not linked to your market account

    They don't update, unless you sideload with another apk.

    Give yourself ½ gig or a £, you're worth it.

    uplink is way too fiddly for the nexus 7 :/ its damn near impossible to choose the right thing to delete/copy/etc

    You can download a Humble Bundle (beta) app where it keeps track of all your indie games as well as updates ... it is an optional download!

    I believe it is only 370kb in size too.

    Sadly I've had to send back my nexus 7, the glass front was becoming detached from the main body, the backlight started flickering a bit and the screen was becoming unresponsive at times. Hopefully my second one will be better.

    On a related note tesco direct return staff are nice and friendly and they are sending me a replacement and picking up the old one on thursday, just wish that they'd be a bit more precise than 7am-7pm for a pickup time.

    I'm contemplating getting one but according to the internet, which is a reliable source, LOTS of people have had above-mentioned issues.
    Perhaps more people from around here could chime in with their experience?
    Am I supposed to believe than newer batches have these issues resolved? Thanks for any input.

    I have one from the first batch - at least I think so, as I got mine in the first week - and no problems at all. Great tablet especially given the price. Getting so much use out of it, loving it!

    Not sure which batch mine was from but I have had no such problems so far and it all seems to be quite robustly constructed.

    Mine was first batch I believe and no problems like that either. Worst it does it lose the wi-fi sometimes when I wake it up even though it says connected.

    There is an app that allegedly stops this,I'm using it on mine atm but as my nexus is at home I can't tell you what its called.some ambient light adjustment app.
    From what iv read it happens if the brightness is below 30% and your downloading at that time.

    Well I get the feeling I'm going to be sending back my replacement one as well, there are crackles from the speaker for a few seconds after playing any sound. Anyone have any idea what's causing it before I send it back.
