    You are in luck!

Google hosting Android event on the 24th of July

Android 4.3, (possible integration with) Chrome OS, a new Nexus 7 and they'll most likely unveil the 'made in the US' Moto(rola) X phone.

I'm thinking about getting the 10 this time. My 7 has been brilliant though. My laptop is gathering dust.

If they put an HDMI out in or a way to easily get my tablet to a tv screen I'd consider updating. Other than that I'll stick with my current 7.

ChromeCast does sound interesting, but I can watch YouTube through my Xbox or PS3...

Yeah I'd be more interested in what it can do other than Youtube.

Yeah, but you just use your tablet as a remote, much more easily.

It also works with ANY device.

Is this google's version of Apple TV?

Bob, nexus devices don't do external storage I though. Going against the design philosophy they are pushing.

I find it hard to imagine people that own a Nexus or Iphone that wouldn't have another means of watching Netflix on their TV.
  • Deleted user 24 July 2013 18:10:13
Price is good but still can;t see people buying this.

    Yeah, no SD card.

$35 for Chromecast. Definitely worth a punt at that.

For 30ish I could be tempted to get one for the bedroom TV but I already have plenty of devices to do the same kind of thing in the living room.

29 over here for the Chromecast.

... not bad at all, considering the Apple TV does similar things for 99!

Whilst I often prefer Apple's ecosystem, their hardware designs, the materials they use as well as iOS 7, which has surpassed my previously low expectations, the Nexus 7 is now a real competitor in the tablet market. The specifications are amazing for a surprisingly low-ish price point.

Very tempted to go for the Nexus7 2 - for the specs the price point seems very reasonable!

Very tempted by the Nexus 7 but I've started using my phone properly for reading articles and have picked up a chromebook for mobile working which makes the N7 a bit unnecessary.

Good luck as it seems we won't be getting the chromecast for a long time :( USA only for now
